“That’s because he loves you very much. He can’t wait to marry you and take you home to pamper you.”
Jasmine chuckled; Josh was indeed very fond of her. Their relationship had always been stable, free from dramatic disagreements, and they maintained a straightforward approach. It seemed to be working well for the loving couple, and their marriage was likely to be more than just fine.
“We’re leaving now; see you later.” Serenity took her nephew with her and instructed the two bodyguards to remain at their posts in the bookshop. She knew that other undercover bodyguards were following her to ensure her safety, so she felt it was fine to leave two behind.
As soon as Serenity departed, Elisa arrived. Upon learning that Serenity had gone to buy groceries, she remarked, “She’s the esteemed lady of the Yorks now, but it seems like nothing has changed for her—it’s the same old routine.”
“This speaks volumes about Zachary’s affection for Serenity, doesn’t it?” Jasmine noted. “He understands the kind of life she wants and allows her the freedom to live it. He’s not trying to force her to change in any way.”
Elisa pondered this for a moment and found herself in agreement. “Did she take Sonny with her?”
“Yes,” Jasmine replied.
“I came here for Sonny! I wanted to take him back to my place to play. Alice has been throwing up more frequently lately.”
“Do you know what my brother has been saying? He insists that she should have an abortion after witnessing the pain the pregnancy has been causing her.”
“That’s outrageous! He keeps insisting that Alice wouldn’t be able to handle the pregnancy! For the past two days, I’ve been debating this with him. He claims that having a baby isn’t the life-changing experience people make it out to be. That’s why I’m going to bring Sonny over; I’m sure he’ll change his mind once he sees how adorable the little boy is.”
Jasmine asked cautiously, “Does your sister-in-law also plan to have an abortion?”
