Married at First Sight Chapter 1239

Chapter 1239
“Alright, it’s settled then. I enjoy seeing you tipsy. You’ll be all over me!”
Zachary lowered his voice at the end.
Serenity was momentarily speechless.
The once callous man had transformed significantly; he could be quite flirtatious over the phone.
“How are things going? Did they make a fuss?”
She still remembered the lengths Old Mrs. Hunt would go to.
Zachary was concerned that Old Mrs. Hunt might create a scene.
However, there was no need to worry, as Zachary had arranged bodyguards for Serenity. She had brought lawyers and was prepared to stand her ground.
“Everything is going well. My granddad must have informed my grandmom about what his sons and grandson said. This time, my grandmom was calm and cooperative. I also got my maternal grandparents involved. They mentioned they didn’t want my mom’s share and wanted us to have it.”
“Okay.”
Zachary had yet to meet the Howdens.
The Howdens had been harsh in the past, but that could be overlooked since they raised Lisa.
“My maternal grandparents apologized to us. They admitted they were wrong for not taking Liberty and me in or defending us when my grandparents treated us poorly. They recognized that we had a difficult time over the years.”
Serenity added, “But I don’t want to dwell on the past anymore. Regardless of their shortcomings, they raised my mom.”
“Do you think that makes me too forgiving, Zachary?”
“No. You have principles. And you’re calling me Zachary again.”
Serenity smiled. “Babe.”
“Come back soon when you’re done there. I miss you a lot.”
“We left home together this morning, you know. It’s only been a few hours.”
“If I could, I would chain you to me. I can’t stand being apart from you for even a moment.”
Feeling

Feeling butterflies in her stomach from all the sweet nothings, Serenity replied, “I need to take the forms to the land registry, and then I can go home.” She then added, “I miss you a lot too.” Zachary understood that Serenity did not long for him as deeply as he did for her, but it made him happy to hear her say it aloud. The couple chatted on the phone for a while before Serenity ended the call.

With that task settled, the sisters, accompanied by their bodyguards, went to have lunch at Mrs. Deli’s home. Mrs. Deli and her husband prepared a feast, having slaughtered some poultry and purchased an abundance of greens. Lisa had been closest to Mrs. Deli during her lifetime, and they were somewhat related. Mrs. Deli was thrilled that the sisters felt at home in her presence.

Serenity and Liberty’s uncles invited the girls for lunch, but Liberty declined the invitation. At least, their ongoing conflicts had ceased. However, Liberty and Serenity were not saints; they couldn’t simply forget the past and share a meal with their relatives.

After lunch, the girls spent some time chatting with Mrs. Deli and other townspeople before heading into town to file the paperwork at the land registry during business hours. They left their hometown afterward. Serenity wanted to give Mrs. Deli some money, but Mrs. Deli refused, insisting instead on gifting the sisters her homegrown fruits and vegetables.

The representatives sent by Elisa to finalize an agreement with the mayors of neighboring towns arrived after Serenity and Liberty had departed. Both matters were resolved in a single day. With the contracts signed, work could begin on Serenity’s and Elisa’s investment project. By the time they returned to the city, it was nearly evening.
