Married at First Sight Chapter 1238

Chapter 1238
Old Mr. and Mrs. Hunt were also required to attend for the ownership transfer formalities.
Once the procedure was completed and Liberty’s name was added to the title deed, both Liberty and Serenity compensated the elderly couple for their share of the property.
Serenity had decided to leave her portion of the inheritance to Liberty, recognizing that her sister, as the eldest daughter, had faced more difficulties in life.
However, Serenity had not disclosed this decision to her sister.
With all formalities completed, the mayor addressed the sisters, saying, “Liberty, Serenity, are you planning to rent out your farmland? We have someone interested in contracting your fields. I recently met with the townspeople, and everyone is supportive.”
“You will receive rental income from the contracted fields, which will be based on the size of your land. The rental rate per acre will be uniform across all properties. If you’re interested, you can leave your contact information with me. I’ll transfer the money once we sign the contract and collect the rental payments.”
The person who was arranging the contracts for everyone’s farmland was Serenity.
Despite this, Serenity kept quiet about it. She smiled and replied, “Thank you. My sister and I won’t be farming the land, so it would be a waste to leave the fields vacant. I’m happy to rent it out if someone wants to develop it. What will be the duration of the contract?”
“At least fifteen years,” the mayor responded.
Serenity remembered that the contract she had drafted was for twenty years; however, she had yet to sign the papers with the town council, and the mayor was unaware of this detail.
“That’s fine,” she said.
Although Liberty was aware of the arrangement, she chose not to speak up, respecting her sister’s decision to remain silent with the mayor.
Serenity instructed her sister to provide her contact information to the

The money could be sent to Liberty once the rent for the farmland was collected.

Ring, ring, ring…

Serenity’s phone rang. It was Zachary. She stepped into a corner to take her husband’s call.

“Babe,” she said, keeping her voice low to maintain the privacy of their conversation.

“I can barely hear you, Seren. Speak louder,” he replied, playfully pushing for more attention.

Serenity chuckled and said, “Can’t hear me? There are so many people around. I don’t want them eavesdropping. Are you finished with work?”

“The meeting just wrapped up, so I wanted to check in and see how things are going there. Will you be back in time for lunch with me?” Zachary asked, leaning back in his black swiveling chair as he twirled around.

While she didn’t necessarily need his company, it was tough on Zachary since he hadn’t seen her all morning. It felt like an eternity since their last encounter.

“I promised Mrs. Deli I’d have lunch at her place. She’s cooking right now, so we won’t make it back for lunch. I’ll whip up some of my specialties for you tonight. How about we open a bottle then?” Serenity suggested.

Zachary teased her, “One glass will knock you out. You’ll sleep through the night. Your sister told me to keep an eye on you and stop you from drinking. You wouldn’t want me to spill the beans to her.”

Serenity shot back, “Don’t use my sister against me! I’ve learned to handle my drinks better after attending events with my aunt. I can manage a couple of drinks now.”
