Zachary inquired,
“We need to deliver some poultry to my sister, so we should leave now.”
Her sister might be asleep if they delayed too long. The last thing they wanted was to disturb
Liberty.
Serenity locked up the shop and got into Zachary’s car while the bodyguards took her vehicle
back.
During the drive, she asked Zachary, “Any updates on the zoo kidnapping? Was it not the Newmans?”
Zachary paused in silence before responding, “The only confirmed detail is that Mr.
Newman wasn’t involved.”
“If he wasn’t, does that mean it was Mrs. Newman?” He had not mentioned anything about Mrs. Newman.
“Josh is still investigating. Nothing is definitive at this time, but we are monitoring Mrs. Newman closely.” Zachary had initially believed he was the primary target.
However, after further investigations, he realized the mastermind was actually after Serenity,
not him.
Given that Mrs. Newman and her daughter harbored a grudge against Serenity, they focused their suspicion on
Mrs. Newman.
“Mr. and Mrs. Newman seem to harbor many secrets, but they are careful to avoid leaving any evidence behind. The couple has even caught Julian’s attention.”
