Chapter 1225
“Let’s head inside. You must join us for dinner tonight,” Mr. Sox said to his future son-in-law.
Mr. Sox felt pleased with Josh for proposing to his daughter in front of everyone. Unlike Mrs. Sox, who took an immediate liking to Josh, Mr. Sox needed a little time to warm up.
Despite his approval of Josh, Mr. Sox maintained a stoic demeanor and remained courteous.
“I’ll stay for dinner even if I’m not invited,” Josh confidently remarked. He greeted Mrs. Lowe and smiled at Shawn.
“Call your father, Shawn. Let him know to join us for dinner after work.”
Mrs. Lowe eagerly encouraged her son to invite her husband over, anticipating an enjoyable dinner together.
She had always wished her niece would marry a wealthy man and had taken on the role of matchmaker. Unfortunately, her niece was not interested. Jasmine had once even lied down on the floor at a banquet to avoid being set up, leading Mrs. Lowe to stop introducing her to potential suitors.
Mrs. Lowe believed that since her niece rejected the idea of marrying into a rich and powerful family, she should at least find someone of equal standing.
The Sox family was relatively affluent, running a business in the rental market for both residential and commercial properties, with total assets exceeding one hundred million dollars.
Mrs. Lowe felt a mix of shock and emotions about Serenity marrying the wealthiest man in Wiltspoon, Zachary York. Unfortunately, her favorite niece was not as fortunate.
Later, Mrs. Lowe learned that Zachary and Serenity had introduced Josh to Jasmine. She was delighted that her niece had found someone like Josh.
None of the men she had previously introduced to Jasmine compared to him.
The Lowe family decided to send Shawn away to protect him and the Lowe name.
Enterprise faced challenges because Shawn had feelings for Serenity and almost became a homewrecker. Mrs. Lowe always worried that this might spell the end for Lowe Enterprise. However, her concerns faded when Zachary and Serenity successfully paired Jasmine and Josh, revealing undeniable chemistry between them. Thanks to Josh and Jasmine, Lowe Enterprise was able to thrive once again.
With a smile, Shawn said, “Sure. I’ll call Dad right now and tell him to come over after work.”
Mr. Sox welcomed his future son-in-law into their home and suggested, “Josh, could you check if your parents are available for dinner? Since you’re now engaged, we, as parents, can discuss your wedding when they arrive.”
Mrs. Sox added, “That’s right. Call your parents to join us now, Josh. We can talk about the wedding tonight.”
She then turned to Jasmine, saying, “Jas, tomorrow is Friday, the last working day of the week. You should go to city hall with Josh tomorrow morning to obtain your marriage license. The wedding reception can be planned later.”
Jasmine replied, “What’s the rush?”
She looked at Josh and continued, “I thought we could have an engagement party before getting our marriage license.”
Josh took her hand, willing to fulfill her wishes if that was what she desired.
“Mom, Dad, you can discuss a date when my parents come over. Jasmine and I will have an engagement party first, and we can get our marriage license afterward. Of course, I hope we can marry sooner rather than later.”
He didn’t want a wedding like Zachary’s after the fall.
Zachary and Serenity already had their marriage license and had completed everything a couple typically does, except for the wedding. That was why they weren’t in a rush to tie the knot.
Josh and Jasmine had not gone all the way yet, and he simply couldn’t wait.
