Married at First Sight Chapter 1221

Chapter 1221
Jasmine sighed and remarked, “Some parents can be quite perplexing. They disapprove of their appreciative children while favoring others who couldn’t care less about them.” Serenity paused for a moment before responding, “These parents hurt the children who genuinely care, while their favored children end up causing them pain instead. Some siblings never form close bonds and may even cut ties after their parents pass away due to the preferential treatment among them.”
“I’m fortunate that my family isn’t like that. My grandparents treat us all equally; there are no favorites or least favorites. My uncles are also kind, and we have a great relationship with our cousins,” Jasmine stated.
After that, Serenity chose not to contribute further to the conversation. She found herself wishing for a family like Jasmine’s.
Her relationship with her cousins was not good.
Ring, ring, ring…
Jasmine’s phone rang.
Thinking it was Josh, Jasmine took out her phone and told her best friend, “He hasn’t called me all day. I think he’s starting to lose interest.”
Serenity responded playfully, “Mr. Bucham loves you to the moon and back. He will never get bored of you.”
“Like attracts like. My man is committed, so I’m sure his best friends share the same outlook on love. Don’t worry; Mr. Bucham has been single for so long, waiting for the right woman to come along, and that woman is you.”
“It’s not Josh. It’s my brother.”
Serenity murmured, “Oh, it’s not Mr. Bucham…”
She had assumed Josh was calling to ask Jasmine out for dinner.
Serenity had informed Zachary that she met Shawn, but he had not responded. She wondered if Zachary might be feeling jealous.
She had merely run into Shawn, and their encounter lasted no more than five minutes. Surely, the man wouldn’t feel jealous… right?
With his lack of response, Zachary was…

He was likely busy at work. After all, Zachary was the CEO of York Corporation, and time was money for him.

“Drake.”

Jasmine answered her brother’s call. “What’s wrong? Is something happening at home?”

“Come home quickly, Jas! You need to see this.”

Drake sounded excited on the phone, urging Jasmine to hurry back.

“What is it?”

Jasmine was bursting with curiosity.

“What is this something I need to see?”

Drake replied with a grin, “I can’t tell you right now. Just come home as soon as you can. It’s something good, I promise. Hurry!”

“Bastard! Just tell me! What is it? Did something good happen at home? Did Dad win the lottery? Are you bringing your girlfriend home?”

Mr. Sox had developed a habit of buying lottery tickets. Although he had never won anything, it was his guilty pleasure. He always picked the same set of numbers, convinced that they would eventually bring him a jackpot.

“Well, I wouldn’t tell you to hurry home if I were bringing my girlfriend. Stop asking, Jas. I told you it’s something good. Just get back here quickly. Ask Serenity to cover the shop tonight or close early.”

Jasmine glanced at the clock—school was about to let out.

“Drake, just spill it already. The kids will be out of school soon, which means we’ll be busy at the shop. This better be worth it; unless the sky is falling, I won’t be back until after six.”
