Chapter 1208
Serenity’s phone rang; it was a call from Zachary.
She glanced at the screen and chuckled, saying, “Speak of the devil.”
Jasmine remarked, “You should be happy! Mr. York is incredibly busy, yet he still calls you every now and then. It’s clear he really cares for you. Of course, my Josh treats me well too—though he’s not officially mine yet since he hasn’t proposed.”
Serenity answered the call.
“Honey, I’m on my way. I’ll be there in ten minutes,” Zachary said.
“You’re coming here?”
Serenity was slightly surprised, unsure why Zachary was suddenly visiting. But she quickly realized he was coming to support her in getting the DNA test results.
She checked the clock; it was half past two. He should be at work at this hour.
He had set aside a lot of his work to be with her. To him, anything related to her was his top priority.
The feeling of being so cherished was sweeter than sugar.
“I can get the results by myself. You’re busy at work,” she said.
Zachary replied, “It’s fine. It won’t take long anyway.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
“Great.”
Serenity made a kissing sound, causing Zachary to laugh. “Honey, I want you to kiss me, not your phone.”
Serenity laughed and ended the call. Turning to her friend, she said, “My man isn’t as easy to coax as yours.”
She had learned that trick from Jasmine.
It had worked well initially, and Zachary had been thrilled when she used it on him. However, it was no longer effective—he wanted a real kiss.
Jasmine grinned. “That’s because Mr. York has experienced something sweeter before. Naturally, he wants more.”
Serenity’s face turned red.
“When will you and Mr. Bucham be inviting us to your wedding?”
Serenity shifted the conversation. “I’m still waiting for your wedding invitation.” Her wedding to Zachary was scheduled for after fall—still quite some time away. Jasmine’s face reflected a certain bliss. “He hasn’t proposed to me yet. I’ll agree to marry him whenever he does. Don’t worry, you won’t be able to escape my wedding banquet.” Meanwhile, Josh was already devising his plan for the proposal.
