“Duncan, Zachary, and Josh are a trio; they are the closest of friends. Zachary and Josh are both in relationships and have experienced the joys of love. I’ll ask them to influence Duncan and encourage him to give Lily a chance.”
“He may not listen to his parents, but he will listen to his good friends. Besides, he’s currently staying at Zachary’s place. Dear, please send me Zachary’s phone number. I’ll call him later instead of waiting until tomorrow.”
Mrs. Lewis contemplated reaching out to Zachary and Josh for assistance.
“Zachary isn’t great with words, and he’s worse than your son. Call Josh instead. Josh knows how to communicate effectively, so he’s more likely to persuade Duncan.”

If Josh heard this, he would likely wonder if he was some kind of miracle worker!

Late at night, Zachary returned home. He gently pushed open the door, then carefully closed and locked it behind him.
The lights were on.
Turning around, he saw Serenity standing at the door of their room in her pajamas.
Zachary approached her and gently tucked her hair behind her ear, revealing her lovely face.
“I just woke up and heard the door. I knew it was you.”
As Serenity helped Zachary remove his suit jacket, she asked, “Are you hungry? Should I make you some supper?”
“I’ve never had supper. I’m worried I’ll gain weight, and then you’ll despise me.”
Serenity chuckled. “I could never despise anyone but you.”

The couple spoke softly as they entered their room, careful not to wake their nana. Zachary gently closed the door behind them.
Once in their room, Serenity helped Zachary hang up his suit jacket and went to fetch some clothes for him to wear in the shower.
Zachary looked at her, grinning from ear to ear.
“Why are you staring at me with that silly grin? You look ridiculous.” Serenity playfully stuffed the clothes into his arms and pinched his cheek. “It used to be so hard to see you smile.”
“Seren.”
Zachary opened his arms and pulled Serenity into an embrace. “I was just thinking about how blessed I am to have you by my side when I wake up in the morning, and to hear your soft voice when I come home at night. I can’t help but smile.”
His grin was infectious.
Serenity returned the embrace, feeling equally touched. After a moment, she gently pushed him away and said, “Hurry up and take a shower. It’s past midnight.”
Zachary touched his face and requested a sweet kiss. “Honey, I’ll shower if you kiss me.”
“It’s your choice if you don’t want to shower, but don’t come to bed. You’ll have to sleep in the study,” Serenity replied as she turned to leave.
Zachary pulled her back, and she spun around into his arms. She cupped his handsome face with both hands and gave him a quick peck on the lips. Looking at him lovingly, she asked with a smile, “Happy now, Mr. York?”
“I love it when you call me babe.”
“Babe.”
Zachary beamed affectionately and headed for the shower, feeling content. Before closing the bathroom door, he called out to Serenity, “Honey, wait for me.”
