Chapter 1171
The man quickly murmured an apology before slipping a note into Jessica’s hand.
Jessica grasped the note, too anxious to open it in public.
She glanced around and spotted the sign for the nearest restroom. Following the sign, she entered the ladies’ room and opened the note to read its contents.
The note stated, “We will create a distraction during an aquarium show and take the child amid the chaos. Your task is to lure them to the aquarium.”
Jessica tore the note into pieces and flushed them down the toilet.
She believed that the group wouldn’t proceed with their plan since a large portion of the family had joined, and Serenity had brought two bodyguards on the trip.
It never occurred to Jessica that they were determined to continue with their mission, planning to strike during a show at the aquarium.
Would they be successful?
At that moment, Jessica was separated from the Brown family, as well as Serenity and her sister.
After leaving the restroom, Jessica called Hank.
She asked Hank to share his location with her. Reining in her frustration, she rejoined the Browns.
Jessica then inquired about Liberty’s whereabouts and learned that Liberty’s group had fallen behind. After lunch, Jessica insisted on waiting at a nearby restaurant for Liberty and the others before attending the aquarium performance.
Many visitors to the zoo were there for the aquatic show.
Serenity’s group entered the aquarium with Sonny.
“Sonny.”
Lucas was having a great time that day.
“Lucas.”
Sonny greeted Lucas politely as he approached to sit with him. The boy enthusiastically talked to Sonny about the animals he had seen.
The adults allowed the children to sit together.
Given Lucas’s history of teasing Sonny, Serenity sat beside Sonny while Liberty kept a watchful eye on the children.
from behind. The bodyguards of the York family were seated not too far away, but instead of paying attention to the show, they appeared bright-eyed and alert. Jessica, however, was not in the mood to watch; she was anxious and kept glancing at Sonny. She wondered if the plan would succeed and whether Sonny would be in danger at their hands. Despite the zoo being crowded, would the people be able to escape once they took the boy? When would she create a distraction? The Yorks’ bodyguards were on high alert, and Jessica felt increasingly tense.
Halfway through the performance, when the audience was fully engaged, a fight broke out at the back of the crowd, causing everyone to turn around. Two groups had somehow clashed; one was a rowdy bunch of young men, known for their hot-headedness. Frustrated by their inability to best a few older ladies, they attempted to resolve the conflict with their fists.
The first punch triggered a series of reactions. The older ladies were not to be underestimated; they rolled up their sleeves and gave the young men a run for their money. With both sides being numerous, the fight quickly spiraled out of control. Innocent bystanders, outraged at being caught in the fray, began to join in.
Everyone watched the brawl instead of the show, while many others tried to avoid getting involved. As people pushed and shoved to escape the chaos, the situation only escalated. The aquarium descended into complete disorder, heightening Jessica’s anxiety. It occurred to her that this was the disturbance the others had mentioned.
She turned to Sonny, while the York family’s bodyguards escorted Serenity, Liberty, and Elisa out of the aquarium amidst the turmoil.
