Married at First Sight Chapter 1165

Chapter 1165
Duncan’s mother had previously mentioned Liberty to Lily.
However, Lily was primarily focused on Serenity, as she aimed to win Mrs. York’s favor.
Nonetheless, Duncan was confident that Lily was keeping tabs on Liberty since she was Mrs. York’s sister.
“I own the space and rent it out,” Duncan clarified, anticipating that Lily might think he was standing up the restaurant owner.
Lily smiled. “No wonder you have breakfast there; you own the place.”
“I’m full. I can’t eat anymore. Ms. Harmon, thank you for the breakfast, but I don’t need it,” he added.
The last thing Duncan wanted was to take Lily to the office.
Lily grinned and said, “I’ll bring it back later. I want to tour your office, Duncan. I didn’t just come to Wiltspoon for this; I’m here to discuss business with a few major corporations too.”
The Harmons operated their business on a large scale.
Mrs. Lewis hoped to form a union with the Harmons, while Lily aimed to penetrate Wiltspoon’s market by establishing connections with major corporations like Lewis & Co. Not only could Lily bring profit to Harmon Corporation, but she could also strengthen her bond with Duncan through their business collaboration.
In her view, although Duncan might seem brusque, he had a sensitive side. Lily believed she could find her happily-ever-after with Duncan if she could win his heart.
Having been immersed in the business world for many years, Lily relished a challenge, and the pursuit of Duncan’s affections intrigued and motivated her greatly.
Since Lily wanted to visit Lewis & Co. under the pretense of a tour, Duncan found it difficult to refuse her. After all, she was the daughter of his mother’s best friend.
Duncan got into his car and pressed the accelerator, driving away quickly.
Lily hurried inside.

In pursuit of his car, Liberty remained unaware of the events unfolding outside the diner. Shortly after Duncan left, the Browns entered the diner in full force. The entire group was present, including Chelsea, her husband, and Lucas. Mrs. Brown had summoned everyone to the city for a trip to the zoo.

Although Lucas was supposed to be in kindergarten, he often fell ill when he was away from his grandparents’ care. Since he was sick again, Chelsea decided to take him out of school for two days to visit his grandparents.

Jessica was not pleased about the large group joining them for the zoo trip. Upon reflection, it seemed the Browns had invited themselves. If the kidnapping plan succeeded, the pressure on Jessica, as the stepmother, would lessen, and the blame would fall on the Browns for not keeping a closer watch on Sonny.

“Sonny.”

Noticing Sonny playing with Legos, Lucas released his mother’s hand, ran over, climbed onto the stool like a monkey, and sat next to Sonny.

“What are you playing with, Sonny? I want a turn,” he exclaimed.

The sound of Lucas’s voice prompted Sonny to quickly shove all the scattered Lego pieces back into the box. By the time Lucas took a seat beside him, Sonny had managed to pack everything away. Holding onto the box tightly, Sonny replied, “Dunc gave me Lego.”

“I want to play with Lego too,” Lucas insisted, extending his hand to reach for Sonny’s bricks.

Sonny leaned away, avoiding Lucas’s grabby hands. He jumped off the stool and took refuge by his mother. Lucas frequently took his toys and teased him, which made Sonny reluctant to play with him.

Although the love and support from his mother and aunt had helped Sonny move past the trauma he experienced at the Reptons’ last year, he had never forgotten about the incident.
