Chapter 1140
‘Did Clive come to Wiltspoon Hotel again?’ Elisa wondered.
The Stone Group also owns a five-star hotel, where Clive often conducted business meetings with clients. The last time he was at Wiltspoon Hotel was to meet an important client staying there.
“What’s wrong?” Remy asked, noticing Elisa staring at the car parked next to hers.
“Nothing. I just saw my brother’s car—this is his. Remy, let’s grab a coffee, but we should leave quickly after finishing our drinks. If he’s in a business meeting, my brother will likely take some time. If we’re fast, we can avoid being seen by him,” Elisa explained, then turned to walk into the hotel.
Remy walked alongside her, keeping pace. He asked, “Are you worried your brother will see us having coffee together?”
“I’m not worried, but I don’t want him to get the wrong idea.”
Remy smiled and responded, “That makes sense.”
Since they were both single, anyone who saw them together could easily misinterpret the situation.
Speak of the devil.
Just as Remy and Elisa reached the revolving door at the hotel entrance, they encountered Clive and a few others.
Elisa instinctively wanted to turn around and leave.
“Elisa!” Clive called out.
Having taken two steps away, Elisa turned back and smiled, “Clive, what a coincidence.”
Clive looked at Remy and then asked his sister with a serious expression, “What are you doing here?”
He noticed his sister was with Remy.
Since she had already been spotted by her brother, Elisa didn’t hide the truth and said, “Remy is treating me to coffee. He usually gets coffee here, so we decided to come.”
Clive turned his gaze to Remy.
Remy responded with a gentle smile, “Mr.
Stone, my house is currently under renovation, and Ms. Stone has provided me with numerous suggestions for improvement. I appreciate her help, so I invited her for a cup of coffee. I have no ill intentions.”
Of course, he harbored no malicious intent—only profound intentions. Clive remained unconvinced. However, with so many people around, he felt he couldn’t voice his concerns openly. Instead, he simply advised his sister, “Make sure to come home after coffee.”
He then addressed Remy, saying, “Mr. Johnson, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions in the future. Since Stone Group is involved in real estate, I have more experience than Elisa in this area.”
Remy smiled warmly, as he always did, and replied, “I will certainly reach out to you in the future, Mr. Stone.”
Clive observed Remy for a moment before stating, “I’ll assist you whenever I can, Mr. Johnson. I must take my leave now.”
“Thank you, Mr. Stone,” Remy replied.
Clive cast a lingering glance at his sister, then escorted his client to the car. He later instructed his company executives to return to the office while he turned back to rejoin his sister. He felt uneasy about her having coffee with Remy.
