Chapter 1137
Elisa quickly assured Remy, “Call me whenever you’re here, and I’ll come over to offer some advice. I promise your future wife will be thrilled with your renovated house. When the time comes, you’ll owe me a big reward.”
Remy smiled and replied, “You will be well rewarded.”
Elisa noticed his constant smile and realized he always wore that expression before speaking. Remy’s smile felt as warm as a spring breeze, making it easy for people to open their hearts to him.
“Alright, I’ll be your renovation consultant.”
Remy thanked her with a grin.
“Let’s go. I’ll treat you to coffee.”
“I usually don’t drink coffee or tea in the afternoon.”
Remy was momentarily at a loss for words.
Elisa was delighted to see him flustered. She laughed and added, “Just because I don’t drink coffee in the afternoon doesn’t mean we can’t visit a café. Which one are you taking me to?”
“In my spare time, I like to have coffee and listen to music at the café on the first floor of Wiltspoon Hotel. It helps me unwind. If I were in Annenburg, I would go to The Meeting Ground, which is co-owned by my sister-in-law and her best friend.”
“The Meeting Ground is thriving. They’ve opened two or three branches now, but the main location remains the most popular. Many people go there for my sister-in-law and Ms. Jennings, who is married to one of the Ormonds.”
Elisa enjoyed hearing about Remy’s brother’s love story. She said, “Next time I’m free to visit Annenburg, take me to your sister-in-law’s café. How does it stack up against Wiltspoon’s Beans and Cream?”
Having visited Beans and Cream himself, Remy pondered before answering, “My sister-in-law’s café is more like a…
The café is popular among influencers, drawing everyone in for her. In contrast, Beans and Cream offers a quiet and safe atmosphere. Each option has its advantages.
Beans and Cream was owned by the late Mrs. York. Remy had learned about it inadvertently while collaborating with York Corporation.
Elisa stepped outside with a smile, while Remy remained in place, watching her. After a few moments, Elisa turned back and cheerfully asked, “Didn’t you say you were going to treat me to coffee? Why aren’t you moving? Are you having second thoughts?”
“Why would I?” Remy replied, quickly returning to his gentle demeanor. He walked up to Elisa’s side, and they left the villa together, side by side.
His bodyguards attempted to follow.
“You don’t need to come with us,” Remy said, dismissing them. He chose not to drive. When Elisa unlocked her car, he walked over to the passenger side, opened the door, and got in.
His bodyguards were left speechless.
Elisa was taken aback as well. She looked at him and asked, “Remy, you’re not driving?”
“We’re headed to the same place, so sharing a car makes sense,” Remy replied, as if it were obvious.
Elisa considered mentioning that she had other plans after their coffee, but ultimately decided against it. She was only going to Serenity’s bookstore to discuss an investment. It could easily wait until tomorrow.
Unexpectedly, Remy added, “I suppose many people recognize your car in Wiltspoon, Ms. Stone. It’s perfectly safe for me to ride with you.”
