Married at First Sight Chapter 1130

Chapter 1130
Liberty knelt down and asked her son, “Were you a good boy? Did you bother your uncle?”
“I’ve been a good boy… but I wet my pants, Mom,” Sonny replied, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.
Liberty asked, “Were you sitting anywhere?”
“On Uncle’s bed,” he said.
Liberty was left speechless.
“Dunc bought me lots of new clothes and a dress. We can save the dress for Aunt Ser’s baby girl!” Sonny added enthusiastically.
Liberty struggled to find words.
Duncan had actually shopped for her son, and included a dress in the mix.
How clueless could he be to buy a dress for a boy?
Unfazed, Duncan approached and handed the bag of clothes to Liberty. He then picked up Sonny and said, “Come on, I’ll walk you two out.”
Liberty kept up with them. “I took my e-bike.”
“Mr. Lewis, how much were the clothes? Let me pay you back,” she offered.
“It’s fine. They didn’t cost much,” Duncan replied.
“I should pay you back, though.”
Liberty was determined to return the money.
Duncan hesitated for a moment before saying, “I spent almost two thousand bucks. You can give me fifteen hundred.”
Glancing at the bag of clothes, Liberty realized Duncan wasn’t a bargain shopper. It made sense that everything would add up to nearly two thousand dollars if he was browsing the new arrivals section.
She opened her purse and took out fifteen hundred dollars to give to Duncan. “This is for the clothes, Mr. Lewis,” she said.
With one hand occupied holding Sonny, Duncan accepted the money with his free hand and tucked it into his pocket without counting it.
As they walked out of the office building, Duncan asked, “Are you sure you don’t need a lift?”
“We’re good. Thank you, Mr. Lewis,” Liberty replied.
Duncan put…

Sonny looked down and said, “Be careful on the road. Don’t forget to put a helmet on Sonny; the wind is really strong today.”

“I have a helmet in the trunk,” Liberty replied.

While holding the bag of clothes in one hand, Liberty took her son’s hand with the other and said, “Say goodbye to Mr. Lewis, Sonny.”

Sonny waved at Duncan, saying, “Bye, Dunc.”

Duncan smiled and waved back, “Goodbye, Sonny.”

As they left, Duncan watched Liberty lead Sonny to the e-bike before driving away. Then, he walked to his car.

Ring, ring, ring…

His phone rang.

Seeing it was Zachary, Duncan picked up as he walked. “Aren’t you in a meeting, Zachary?”

“Can’t I take a break for some water? Why didn’t you drive my sister-in-law and Sonny home?”

Zachary was still at his office, unwilling to admit he was being nosy. With a pair of binoculars, he peered through his window and saw his sister-in-law leaving with Sonny. He wanted to scold his best friend for missing the chance to help.

“Liberty rode her bike here; she doesn’t need a lift. Besides, I’m not free. I have to rush to Wiltspoon Hotel for a meeting with a client.”

Zachary was speechless.

“Your sister-in-law paid me for the clothes,” Duncan added.

Feeling uneasy, Zachary asked, “Paid for what?”

“For the clothes I bought for Sonny. I spent almost two thousand bucks, but I only charged her fifteen hundred.”

Baffled, Zachary replied, “It’s no wonder your mom worries about whether you’ll ever get married.”

He then ended the call.

After being hung up on, Duncan muttered, “What’s with the ridiculous questions? I know you have a wife, and your family isn’t pressuring you to get married.”

Married, but mine is. Yet here you are, making such a crude remark. You’re truly a terrible friend.” Poor Zachary.
