Married at First Sight Chapter 1113

Chapter 1113
Serenity was taken aback.
She realized she was in the wrong line of work. Why bother starting her own business when she could simply have children with Zachary? Her wealth could be built through motherhood.
Jasmine gasped in admiration, as expected from the affluent.
The push present was quite valuable, and Grandma May wasn’t the only one giving gifts; other family members would also be bestowing cash gifts.
“Seren, you can become rich just by having kids,” Jasmine said with a smile.
Elisa took Jasmine’s hand and gently touched the charm bracelet Jasmine received from Mrs. Bucham, saying, “Jasmine, you don’t need to feel envious of Seren. Your future mother-in-law gifted you a family heirloom. At first, I thought I was mistaken, but after a closer look, I’m convinced this is indeed the Buchams’ family heirloom.”
Jasmine was speechless.
“The Buchams’ family heirloom? How can you tell?”
It never crossed Jasmine’s mind that Mrs. Bucham would present her with a family heirloom during their initial meeting.
Had Jasmine passed some sort of test on their first encounter?
“My mom introduced me to the ladies of the Bucham family. I always noticed Mrs. Bucham wearing the charm bracelet. The matriarch also has one, which is even more valuable than Mrs. Bucham’s,” Elisa explained.
“Mrs. Bucham mentioned that this is their family heirloom passed down to the wife of the oldest son. I assume Josh is the oldest son?”
Jasmine responded, “Actually, Julian, the head of the household, is older.”
“But they don’t share the same mother; they are just cousins.”
Jasmine felt her cheeks flush. “That’s surprising! They seem so close, like brothers. Josh must be the oldest child in his family then.”
Elisa grinned and said, “So you don’t need to envy Seren. Your future in-laws are on par with the Yorks. Goodness, both…

had betrayed me.”

Jasmine glanced at Serenity, who met her gaze in return.

It wasn’t that the girls had never encountered jewelry before. Jasmine knew that Mrs. Bucham had given her an extravagant gift, but she had never considered that Mrs. Bucham might view her as a potential daughter-in-law from their very first meeting.

Josh must have been aware of this, yet he said nothing. In fact, he encouraged Jasmine to accept Mrs. Bucham’s present.

He was as cunning as ever.

“I’m going to start cooking now,” Jasmine said, making an excuse to leave so she could call Josh and confirm whether Elisa’s claims were true.

She had been able to socialize with the upper class thanks to her aunt, who had married into that circle. Jasmine thought she understood the community well enough, but compared to Elisa, she realized there was an even wealthier class above the one she frequented.

Jasmine hadn’t even known about the Buchams’ family heirloom.

Furthermore, Serenity’s first connection to high society had been through Jasmine.

Although Serenity had never been interested in social climbing, she had somehow married into a powerful and affluent family. As the lady of the household, she had much to learn. Compared to Jasmine, Serenity bore a heavier burden.

Serenity certainly had a lot on her plate.

“I’m not eating here today, Jasmine. There’s no need for you to cook for me,” she said.

Elisa added, “I’m leaving. I only came to discuss the progress of our investment project. Cece isn’t feeling well, and I want to be there for her.”

“Is your best friend still feeling down?” Jasmine asked.

“She needs time to heal. She was with that guy for so many years, only to be betrayed. Not everyone can move on as easily as I did. Letting go of feelings isn’t simple. I even cried to my brother a few times when I found out about Zachary.”

“was married.”
Serenity felt uncomfortable.
At that time, she genuinely believed that Elisa and Mr. York would make it work.
