Married at First Sight Chapter 1095

Chapter 1095
“Seren, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. We’re just taking preventive measures. Besides, people in our circle typically travel with security details. No one would be caught dead without one.”
Serenity felt guilty. “I’m worried that the Newmans might retaliate against me through my sister and Sonny.”
However, she did not regret helping Camryn.
Carrie had crossed a line.
“That won’t happen. Don’t worry. I’m here for you. Plus, your sister is renting the shop from Duncan. Duncan is quite responsible as a landlord. He wouldn’t let his tenants get into that kind of trouble. In fact, he owns half the commercial spaces on the street and has never had a problem.”
Duncan had once been on the wrong side of the law.
Even though he had turned his life around, he still maintained good relationships with many from his past. No one would dare cause trouble on his property.
Moreover, Duncan had a soft spot for Sonny. He wouldn’t stand by if anyone tried to harm him.
“The only ones bold enough to target you are the Newman mother and daughter, along with your relatives. I’ll inform Josh to keep an eye on both families. That way, we’ll know if they’re planning anything, and we can be prepared.”
Zachary then asked his beloved wife, “If you could turn back time, would you still help Camryn?”
Serenity answered without hesitation, “Absolutely. She would have died if Elisa and I hadn’t intervened that night.”
It had never crossed Serenity’s mind that Carrie would disregard the law.
Zachary smiled, recognizing that his wife would never shy away from justice. “In that case, you shouldn’t blame yourself. What you did is commendable. We can’t make everyone happy in this world. There will always be

“A few bad apples,” he said. “We can’t prevent these bad apples from entering our lives. All we can do is stay vigilant. Anyway, go take a bath; it’s getting late.”

Serenity resonated with his thoughts. No matter how she behaved, there would always be those who disagreed with her and wished her ill.

Since she had no regrets about assisting Camryn, there was no reason to dwell on it or blame herself further.

Regarding any potential retaliation from the Newmans, she decided to heed Zachary’s advice and simply prepare for the unpleasant family.

Having come to terms with it, Serenity stepped into the bathroom for a bath while Zachary settled onto the bed to call Josh.

Josh and Jasmine had just returned to the Soxes’ residence after a night out. He was planning to come in for a drink when Zachary’s call came through.

Jasmine informed him that it was late and her family was already asleep, urging him to go home and get some rest.

He watched Jasmine enter the house before answering Zachary’s call.

“Are you still on a date?” Zachary asked.

“It’s late. I just drove my girlfriend home. Why aren’t you asleep at this hour?” Josh replied.

Zachary responded, “Something happened to my wife again.”

A sense of dread washed over Josh as he asked with concern, “What happened? Did you two fight or have another misunderstanding? Did you drink at tonight’s business meeting and mess things up while you were drunk?”

Zachary was taken aback. “You’re the one who’s messing around. I didn’t even have a drop of alcohol.”

“Not a drop? And Mr. Moe was okay with that?” Josh inquired.

Mr. Moe was the client Zachary had met that evening.

“I was upfront with Mr. Moe about my wife’s aversion to my drinking. She can’t stand the smell of alcohol on me. If I drink, I have to sleep in the study, and Mr. Moe called me an…”

uxorious husband. Instead, I opted for tea.
