I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 95

Chapter 95

Logan saw everyone in the audience staring at them. His face hardened, and he yanked Diana off the stage.

The guests‘ murmurs immediately surged louder.

No one knew what was going on.

Logan dragged Diana into a corner. Her carefully styled hair was left a mess.

She steadied herself and glared at him. “Logan, what are you doing? There are so many guests watching.

“I did this for your own good. You know what Vivian’s temper is like. If I didn’t do it this way, you’d be the one she’d keep under her thumb.”

Anger reddened Logan’s eyes, and his whole body trembled like he had nowhere to put it.

Diana saw his reaction and quickly tried to smooth it over.

“Zane said those men didn’t actually do anything to her. They just took a few photos to use against her. Logan, I did this for you. Once we’ve got something on her, she won’t be able to walk all over you anymore.

“You don’t want her to leave you, do you? This is the only way she’ll stay. Otherwise, if Vivian ever found out about your affair with Sloane, do you really think she’d let you

off?”

Logan clenched his jaw, raised his fist, and slammed it into the wall.

Diana jumped, startled.

When she saw he’d forced himself to calm down, she quietly let out a breath and shoved the agreement into his hands. “Logan, when Vivian comes onstage later, give her this and make her sign it. She won’t refuse.”

Logan frowned and looked toward the doors of the hall.

Through the gap beneath the door, he caught sight of a figure in a white dress hurrying over.

The bride had only just finished her makeup and was rushing over. She clearly hadn’t heard what Diana had said onstage earlier.

Logan finally loosened up a little. He gripped the agreement tightly and walked back to the stage.

On the second floor, Vivian stood in a black dress and watched everything that had just happened below.

A cold smile sat on her lips as she slowly swirled her wine, the red liquid rolling in the glass, vivid and sharp.

When Logan returned to the stage, the ceremony resumed.

The overhead lights dimmed, and the carefully arranged ambient lights came on. The crystals around the hall caught the glow and scattered it into shifting colors, turning the whole place dreamlike.

The double doors were pulled open by the groomsmen on either side. Logan stared straight at the entrance.

A bride in a wedding gown stood under the spotlight with a sweet smile.

Logan’s face went ashen when he saw Sloane in Vivian’s wedding dress. He understood at once what it meant.

Fear surged, and panic hit him so hard his chest tightened.

Guests who’d met Vivian before stared in disbelief, then broke into a wave of frantic whispers.

Sloane saw the change in Logan’s expression, and her smile froze.

Jack had come to get her, saying that something had happened to Vivian the night before and that she’d fallen apart and refused to attend the wedding.

He’d also said Logan didn’t want to marry someone who’d already been “ruined“, so Logan had sent him to bring Sloane over.

Sloane had been thrilled and hurried over.

When she put on the wedding dress Logan had personally designed and stood at the doorway, all she could think was that she was finally going to marry him.

She’d done it. She’d driven Vivian out and taken her place.

But Logan looked like he hadn’t known she was coming at all. His expression shifted, and he hurried down from the stage.

Only then did Sloane realize she might’ve been set up.

The guests‘ whispers and the fury in Logan’s eyes made her heart pound. A sudden, overpowering urge to run surged up inside her.
