I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 77

Chapter 77

Logan froze for a moment as his face turned pale. He asked, “If I transfer the money right now, will that make you happy?”

Vivian hummed in response and countered, “Why wouldn’t I be happy?”

Grinding his teeth, Logan snapped, “I’ll transfer it right now!”

Vivian replied, “Alright. Remember to leave a remark, saying it’s voluntary.”

With a dark expression, Logan ended the call. He opened his mobile banking app and transferred the money to Vivian with a remark saying that it was voluntary. Then, he took a

screenshot and sent it to her.

Vivian had just put her phone down when a notification came in. She picked it up and glanced at the message. It was a notification from the bank, stating that she had received two million

dollars.

Upon seeing that, she smiled, feeling relieved. The repair costs were covered, and she had even saved herself another expense.

A moment later, Logan sent over the screenshot. Vivian clicked into the chat and, in a good mood, replied with a sticker to express her gratitude.

When he saw her reply, the tension in his chest finally eased. He typed out a message, saying, I’m coming over to see you now.’

Vivian stared at the screen as her good mood vanished instantly. She replied, “Actually, I look forward to seeing you the day after tomorrow at the wedding.”

Logan responded quickly, “Are you trying to do the whole ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder‘ thing before the wedding?”

Vivian asked, “Aren’t you looking forward to it?”

Logan answered, “Of course, I am. I dream about the moment you walk toward me in the wedding dress I designed. Vivi, I truly do love you.

Vivian smiled coldly. Truly loved her? Who would believe that? She certainly didn’t.

“Please look forward to it then. I’ve prepared a surprise for you.”

After sending that message, she stopped replying to his messages.

On the other end, Logan stared at his phone for a long time. Slowly, he smiled faintly. For

some reason, it felt like he had gone back to the very beginning when he and Vivian had just started dating.

Jack was already driving toward Southgarden Residences. When they reached the entrance, Logan glanced outside and said in a low voice, “Turn back. I’ll be staying at the office for the next couple of days.”

“Got it, Mr. Whitfield,” replied Jack, making a U–turn and heading toward the company.

The drive from Southgarden Residences to the office took no more than two minutes.

At Southgarden Residences, Sloane waited for Logan for a long time, but he didn’t return. Unable to hold herself back any longer, she finally sent him a message.

There was no reply. Just as she was about to give him a call, Diana appeared in her room out of

nowhere and snatched the phone from her hand.

Diana reprimanded, “It’s late. Why are you still using your phone? The radiation is bad for the baby. Hurry up and go to sleep.”

Ever since Diana moved in, she had stopped knocking before entering Sloane’s bedroom. Now, Diana didn’t even allow Sloane to close the door when sleeping.

Sloane had mentioned it to Logan several times over the past few days, but he hadn’t taken it seriously at all. He even felt that Diana was doing nothing wrong and told Sloane to be more accommodating.

Regret churned in Sloane’s chest. She had wanted Diana to help take care of her, but instead, it

felt like she had invited a wolf into her home.

Sloane said, “Mrs. Whitfield, it’s late, and Logan still isn’t back. I just wanted to give him a call

and ask.”

Diana snorted. “If he hasn’t come back, he has obviously gone to Vivian’s place. That’s his real home. You had better understand your position and stop thinking about interfering with them. They’re about to get married. You should behave yourself.”

Sloane bit her lip as a flash of resentment flickered in her eyes before slowly turning into something darker.

She asked in a low voice, “Mrs. Whitfield, don’t you hate Vivian, too? Why did you agree to let Logan marry her? They’re going to get married soon, yet she hasn’t contacted you once these

past few days.

“It’s obvious she doesn’t take you seriously at all. Are you really willing to let her step all over you for the rest of your life?”
