I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 73
Chapter 73
“Please rest assured. As long as you’re willing to work with Whitfield Group, we definitely won’t disappoint you,” said Logan.
Kingston just glanced at Logan. Without saying another word, he turned and walked out of the alley.
Theo was still waiting where he had parked. When he saw Kingston emerge, he quickly got out and opened the door for the latter.
Logan followed Kingston to the car. When he noticed that his car wasn’t blocking Kingston’s, he frowned. He muttered, “Mr. Howard…”
Kingston seemed calm as he replied, “It seems that the car that was blocking mine earlier
wasn’t yours. I must have mistaken it.”
Theo raised a brow. He had been sitting in the car the entire time. He hadn’t seen any car blocking them.
Logan couldn’t say anything. He just replied politely, “It’s fine.”
Kingston didn’t show any trace of embarrassment. He bent down and got into the car. After Logan watched Kingston’s car drive away, he turned back toward Vivian’s place.
Kingston wasn’t the type to meddle out of kindness. Logan could clearly sense that Kingston showed a side of himself that was anything but ordinary when it came to Vivian.
Grinding his teeth, Logan knocked on the door and called out, “Vivian, open up.”
Inside, Vivian was washing up. Hearing the commotion outside, she calmly picked up her phone and gave Willow a call. “Willow, please help me.”
The moment Vivian spoke, Willow exploded on the other end of the line. Willow questioned, ” That worthless man is back again, isn’t he?”
Vivian hummed pitifully in response. Willow immediately patted her chest in assurance and said, “Don’t worry. I’ll chase him off right now.”
In the past, Vivian had promised to lend Willow her grandmother’s plot of land for planting without receiving rent. Because of that, Willow had been especially warm toward Vivian lately.
After Vivian thanked Willow, Willow ended the call in a hurry, clearly eager to deal with Logan. At that, Vivian smiled. She truly had no desire to waste words on Logan, nor did she want to listen to any more of his lies.

Chapter 73
Before long, Willow’s loud cursing could be heard outside, accompanied by a stench so foul it was hard to endure. Vivian immediately shut all the doors and windows, making sure none of the smell seeped inside.
Logan had never been humiliated in such a way before. After being splashed with a bucket of filth, he felt so nauseated that he nearly threw up.
Willow stood at the entrance with her hands on her hips. She spewed crude insults and verbally shredded Logan from head to toe.
Lights flicked on one by one in nearby houses as neighbors heard the commotion. The once dim alley was suddenly lit up by lights.
As Logan was burned with shame, his expression darkened. He shot Willow a glare before turning and storming off. As he walked, he took off the shirt soaked in filth. He exuded hostility.
Willow was momentarily intimidated by his look, but once she saw him leave, she hurled a few more curses after him.
Logan tossed the shirt into the trash and got into his car without wearing a shirt. Then, he sped away. A few drops had splashed onto his pants as well. The foul smell clung to him the entire drive, leaving him irritable.
As Logan’s car passed by, Theo spotted it and turned to Kingston in the backseat. He said, Kingston, he’s gone now. Should we…”
Before Theo could finish, Kingston extended his hand and said, “Give me your phone.”
Theo was confused, but he still unlocked his phone and handed it over. After dialing a few numbers, Kingston made the call.

Kingston stated, “Hello, I would like to report a drunk driver. The license plate is A135… The driver is currently traveling from Canopy Road toward Maple Lane. His destination should be Southgarden Residences.”
Theo was rendered speechless. After ending the call, Kingston tossed the phone back to Theo. Theo caught it and asked, “Why didn’t you use your own phone?”
Kingston replied, “Because this seems more like something you would do.”
Theo scratched his head. Was he really that petty
