I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 57
Chapter 57

Stella couldn’t stand Logan.
Just yesterday, when she went to him seeking reconciliation, she’d been humiliated instead. Now, she could only sneer inwardly as she watched him act so arrogantly in front of Kingston.
What gave Logan the right to speak like that?
Even if thanks were due, the person she should be thanking was Vivian.
Stella said, “Mr. Whitfield, you’re right. I should definitely be thanking you the most. If it weren’t for your relationship with Ms. Hartwell, I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet Ms. Hartwell and Mr. Howard. You really did find yourself a capable girlfriend.”
Stella’s words cleared much of the haze from Logan’s alcohol–blurred gaze.
He sat there with a frown, staring at everyone present.
Everyone’s expressions remained polite, but the looks they cast his way carried unmistakable traces of mockery and disdain.
For a few moments, the atmosphere was tense and awkward. Then, Kingston raised his glass and lightly clinked it against Vivian’s. “May your future be smooth and prosperous as well, Ms.
Hartwell.”
With Kingston speaking up, the atmosphere immediately relaxed again.
Logan frowned and reluctantly lifted his glass. He downed the alcohol in one go, clearly in a
sour mood.
The guests set their glasses down and began to leave one after another.
Logan, however, sat back down in his chair.
Vivian and Stella stood up to get their bags.
Surrounded by the others, Kingston left the private room. When he reached the doorway, he stopped and turned back to look at Vivian. “Come to the office tomorrow to sign the contract. There are a few details we can discuss in person.”
During the dinner, everyone had already sensed that Vivian and Kingston had reached some sort of agreement.
Now that Kingston said it outright, it meant one thing. Whitfield Group had secured a partnership with Howard Group.

Everyone assumed Vivian was representing Whitfield Group.
No one knew she was just representing herself.
Vivian nodded. “Alright. I’ll walk you out.
Kingston didn’t refuse, and the two of them walked side by side.
Logan sat in his seat for a long time. When Vivian picked up her bag and walked past him without a word, he remained silent for a moment. After overhearing her conversation with Kingston, he rose to his feet despite his displeasure, forcing it down as he followed after them.
He’d been drinking too fast and was genuinely drunk, so his steps were unsteady. By the time he reached the doorway of the private room, Vivian and Kingston were already walking away together.
As a man, Logan could clearly sense that Kingston viewed Vivian in a special light.
Alarm bells rang in his head.
Logan hurried to chase after them, but his steps were still unsteady. He staggered down the corridor, knocking over several decorative fixtures along the way.
The clatter and commotion echoed behind them. Vivian frowned and was about to turn back
when Kingston said in a low voice, “Look ahead. There’s a step down. Or are you hoping I’ll save you like I did this morning?”
Vivian was speechless.
That morning, she’d nearly missed a step, and he’d yanked her back. He was so forceful that
she’d almost fallen into his arms.
She’d just been distracted. It hadn’t been intentional at all.
But the way Kingston phrased it made it sound as though she’d done it on purpose. Sometimes, she really wished she could just seal his mouth shut.
