I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up Chapter 47

Chapter 47

1/2

Logan clenched his teeth and drove around in circles without any direction. Then, he furiously slammed on the brakes and irritably tugged at his tie.

Diana had been frightened by Logan’s earlier outburst and didn’t dare speak. Now that the car had stopped, she cautiously said, “Logan, Sloane’s carrying a child. Don’t scare her.”

Sloane’s face was pale, and she looked at Logan pitifully. “I’m fine. I’m just worried about

Vivian…”

Diana ground her teeth and said to Logan, “If she dares to cheat on you,

“She wouldn’t!” Logan cut her off sharply.

Vivian loved him so much. How could she possibly cheat on him?”

then you…”

Sloane’s eyes reddened. She bit her lip lightly and looked at Logan with a pleading expression. “Logan, don’t be angry. Your mother didn’t mean it like that. She’s just worried about you.” “Logan, don’t be angry. Your mother didn’t mean it

Logan raised a hand and ran it frritably through his hair before picking up his phone again. He called Vivian once more, but she still didn’t answer.

Sloane sat quietly in the passenger seat, saying nothing. She could barely contain the joy in her eyes.

As long as a seed of doubt took root in Logan’s heart about Vivian, cracks would form in their relationship.

Sooner or later, Logan would give up on Vivian.

Diana was about to speak again, but Sloane immediately shook her head at Diana.

Their eyes met, and calculations started to brew in their minds.

When the car arrived at the underground parking garage, Vivian had just finished the long tug- of–war and defeated the enemy.

When the word “Victory” appeared on the screen, a triumphant smile spread across Vivian’s face. She waved her phone at Kingston. “Bingo. I got it.”

Then, she continued, “Mr. Howard, how much better do you think my skills are compared to yours?”

Kingston took the phone from her hand and said leisurely, “You’re just a tiny bit better. This was mostly thanks to me for laying the foundation for this win.”

Vivian was utterly speechless.

He sure had some nerve.

After the driver parked the car, he got out and opened the door for them.

She’d been completely focused on the game and hadn’t noticed that this wasn’t the destination they’d agreed on.

Vivian said, “Mr. Howard, we came to the wrong place. This isn’t the Halcyon Group.”

Kingston bent down and stepped out of the car. Standing beside it, he turned back to look at her. “You expect me to meet a client like this?”

Vivian’s gaze fell on his chest, where the coffee stains on his black shirt had already dried, leaving several marks.

She awkwardly looked away. “Sorry.”

After all, he’d been dragged into this because of her.

Kingston withdrew his gaze from her and walked toward the elevator.

The driver respectfully invited Vivian out of the car. “Ms. Hartwell, please step out.” Vivian hesitated for a moment before she said softly, “I won’t go up. I’ll just wait for you here.

The driver didn’t respond, nor did he close the car door.

Kingston’s voice came from the direction of the elevator, echoing faintly in the open space. You keep saying you’re sorry, but you show no intention of making it up to me. So, Ms.

Hartwell, what exactly are you apologizing for?”

Vivian’s ears instantly turned red.

The way Kingston spoke had a way of leaving her utterly cornered at any moment.

The driver smiled kindly and lowered his voice. “Théo isn’t in today. Normally, he’s the one who prepares Mr. Howard’s outfits. I don’t understand these things, so I’m afraid we’ll have to trouble you, Ms. Hartwell.”
