Abril tasted the lemonade, it was fresh and sweet, and she felt the heat dissipate a little. Alessandro brushed a strand of hair that had escaped her braid and tucked it behind her ear, then asked, “Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
“It’s very hot, your cheeks are still red.”
Seeing his brother flirting with Abril made Cassian feel uneasy. He stood up and said, “I’ll step out for a moment, I’ll be right back.”
“Don’t go too far.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t.”
After Cassian left, Alessandro said to Abril, “I’m not upset that you came. I enjoyed seeing you, but right now the port isn’t a very safe place. I was planning to show it to you once everything was sorted out.”
“I’m sorry for not listening to what you said.”
“It’s okay.”
“I’ll leave after finishing my lemonade. I’ll wait for you tonight.”
“I promise to show you the port properly next time, and we’ll take another walk on the beach.”
“That sounds good.”
After Abril finished her lemonade, she asked, “Will you come for dinner tonight?”
“I don’t know.”
Alessandro saw a shadow of sadness on the princess’s face. He approached her, gave her a soft kiss on the lips, and said, “But I’ll try.”
He kissed her again, deeper this time. Abril wrapped her arms around his neck and enjoyed his kisses. Alessandro hated the idea of having to leave, but he had to continue searching for the pirates. Every day that passed was another day they kidnapped people to sell as slaves. for As he pulled his lips away from hers, he said, “If I don’t make it in time for dinner, wait up me. I’ll try to come back early tonight.”
“I will.”

When Cassian returned, they had separated, and Abrt seemed more cheerful than bulge the wondered if they had reconciled Alessandro said to Cassian, Go straight home, don’t gee distracted on the way.
Cassian had heard from some guards what the pirates were doing. Kidnapping people to turn them into slaves. At that moment, he realized how reckless he had been to leave the mansion with Abril. “Don’t worry, we will. And I’m sorry for coming. I realize now how foolish
it was.”
“I didn’t tell you what was happening, so don’t worry about it.”
“Then we’ll be off. Good luck with your work.”
Alessandro accompanied them to the carriage. Before Abril got in, Alessandro said, Till see you later.”
As the carriage started moving, Cassian said, “I’m sorry, in the end, my brother was a bit upset.”
“No, thank you for bringing me. Even though it was brief, I enjoyed seeing His Majesty”
“I see you’re getting along better with Lessan.”
Abril nervously moved her hands and replied, “Yes, I think we’re getting along better lately”
“I hope things continue to go well for you both.”
“I also hope this lasts a bit longer.”
As they started to leave the port, Abril looked out the carriage window to see the scenery. She saw a completely black carriage approaching them and stared at it for a moment before saying, “There’s a strange carriage coming towards us.”
Cassian looked out the window and saw a completely black, windowless carriage. He knew it was strange. He shouted to the coachman, “Hurry up, they’re chasing us.”
The coachman tightened the reins and said, “Hold on tight.”
The carriage swayed, and Abril clung tightly to her seat and asked, “What’s happening?”
“They’re chasing us, and I don’t think it’s for anything good.”
Cassian drew his sword while looking through the window and said, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you. I won’t let them harm you, I promise.”
The coachman made the horses go as fast as they could, but the pursuing carriage quickly caught up and started shooting arrows at them. Cassian told Abril to duck, and he did the

same. The carriage soon came to a stop; the coachman had been unable to dodge the arrows as he was in the front.
The carriage door burst open, and several disheveled men entered. Cassian killed the nearest one, preventing him from reaching Abril, who was on the floor screaming and crying, “Please stop.”
As Abril cried uncontrollably, Cassian used his magic. Roots emerged from the ground, trapping their attackers. For a moment, it seemed like everything would be fine, that they would win. However, the others threw some vials on the ground, and a strange smoke began to emerge. Cassian knew what the smoke was. He covered his mouth with his sleeve and said to Abril, “Don’t breathe, this smoke is not good.”
Abril held her breath for a moment, but then she felt hands grabbing her and started to scream, “Let go of me.”
Cassian couldn’t use his sword because the smoke blocked his vision, nor could he use his magic. He could no longer hold his breath and ended up inhaling the smoke. His vision blurred, and his body started to paralyze. He tried to grab Abril, but he couldn’t. The smoke dissipated, and Cassian watched helplessly as they took Abril and loaded her into the completely black carriage. Among the kidnappers, he saw a familiar face; it was the servant who had brought them the lemonade. After that, Cassian passed out, and Abril also fainted, not knowing what was happening or why she was being captured.
