“You have nothing to worry about. In the future, when James goes out with Emily, don’t check up on him so much. Don’t you trust James’s character?”
She stood before me, her tone carrying a hint of command.
“Yeah, Luna,” chimed in Mark, James’s best friend and the biggest supporter of the “James & Emily” pairing—also the one who forgot to block me last time.
“You checking in all the time really kills the vibe. We’re all decent people. We wouldn’t lead James astray.”
“Besides, our startup just got off the ground. It’s a hectic time. Everyone is busy during the startup phase.”
“What’s the big deal coming home a little late? Emily ended up in the hospital last week from drinking with clients!”
“If they wanted to be together, they would have been long ago, Luna. Just relax!”
He never liked me. Seeing me scolded by an elder, he happily piled on.
I frowned. “What company? What startup?”
