Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 93
Chapter 93
Daniel said that different people would have different interpretations.
For Natalie, the interpretation was simple. She never got what she waited for. The light in her heart had burned brightly for five long years, day and night, because Jeffrey had never come home on time.
He’d say he was out entertaining clients, working late, or in meetings. She would wait, foolishly, until he finally appeared.
No matter how exhausted she was, she couldn’t bring herself to go to bed. She’d curl up on the couch or sit on the balcony, watching the empty night with only a little lamp keeping her
company.
She couldn’t bear the thought of Jeffrey coming home after a long day, only to find the house empty. Among all the lights shining in the city, there had to be one for him.
Sometimes, he came home smelling of alcohol. Other times, he’d look exhausted, his
expression distant and weary.
But deep down, she knew he wasn’t really that busy. He just didn’t want to come home. He didn’t want to see her.
But that was all behind her now.
Now, she lived in the present and focused on the future. She would never again wait so desperately for someone who didn’t care.
Daniel had heard about her failed marriage through Stacy.
He said, “Natalie, art comes from life, and the pain in life is the source of inspiration. People who sail through life never produce great works. It’s through regret, hardship, and frustration that true art is born.”
The most famous artists, both from home and abroad, whether alive or deceased, all had one thing in common. Behind their most celebrated works, there was always a history of struggle and hardship.
Natalie said, half–joking, half–serious, “So, should I thank my ex–husband for the inspiration if I ever create a famous painting one day?”
Daniel nodded. “Exactly. Now, go ahead and get started on that masterpiece.”
“I plan to.” Natalie smiled. “I’ll definitely need your guidance along the way.”
“No problem at all.”

In the past few days, she had been too busy with the gallery’s renovations and opening to focus on her art. Now that things had calmed down, she was finally able to pick up a paintbrush again. She could paint the world inside her mind and express the feelings she had been holding in for so long.
In the years she spent chasing after Jeffrey, she had sacrificed so much of herself. Now, she was ready to find herself again.
After leaving the studio, she headed toward the exhibition hall. It was a workday, and the time was nearing noon, so the gallery wasn’t too crowded.
But as soon as she walked in, she spotted a few familiar faces.
Johnson, Chandler, and… Stephen.
The three of them had somehow ended up at her gallery together.
Johnson noticed her first and flashed a smile. “Hey, Natalie.”
Chandler looked her way and smiled too. “Natalie, your gallery is incredible! It’s even making the news. I had to come and see it for myself. When you’re famous, don’t forget about me.”
“She’s going to be famous, not forgetful,” Stephen teased. “Don’t worry, she won’t forget about you.”
Natalie stared at the three of them, surprised. “What brings you three here together?”
“Oh, these two have been hooking me up with some business deals, and they mentioned you. They’re thinking of introducing you to people who hold art exhibitions,” Stephen explained. ” We’re having dinner tonight to go over everything in more detail. Are you free?”
