Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 81

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 81

Chapter 81

Stacy stared at Natalie in shock. “Why are you consoling me instead? You’re the one who got framed, Nat.”

Natalie said lightly, “It’s not like this is the first time.”

She’d gotten used to it, so it didn’t matter. She’d also

grown numb.

The corners of Natalie’s lips lifted in a smile. “Let’s get back to business. We still have the celebratory feast tonight. Stacy, I need to bring my A game. I can’t be bothered by these

matters.”

“You truly are a courageous woman, Nat.”

Natalie was still smiling.

There wasn’t a woman who was born with that kind of strength, and there wasn’t a woman who didn’t wish for someone to rely on.

She had been forced to grow by that heartless man who used to share a bed with her, her strength forged by countless trials and tribulations.

Natalie looked at that cup of tea, feeling slightly dazed.

In the hospital’s emergency room, the doctor carefully examined Abigail. He prescribed some pills and put her on an IV drip before transferring her to a ward.

Jeffrey accompanied Abigail throughout the whole process.

Abigail leaned weakly against his chest, the IV needle attached to the back of her hand.

“Take the medicine, Ab.” Jeffrey handed her the pills and a glass of water.

Abigail obediently swallowed the pills and continued leaning in his embrace. She took out her phone and typed, “Jeff, will you accompany me a little more?”

He replied, “Of course.‘

She typed another line, “I should be fine now. I’ll be able to speak soon.”

Jeffrey ruffled her long hair and made a sound of affirmation.

“Jeff, don’t blame Natalie. If she feels resentful, let her vent her anger. Perhaps she’ll stop once she’s finished venting.”

However, his expression darkened. “Don’t worry about it and focus on resting. I’ll deal with it

and make sure you receive an apology.”

“I don’t want your relationship with Natalie to become too strained. You were once spouses, after all. I don’t want to make things difficult for you either, so I can endure a bit of hardship- as long as I get to be with you.”

Abigail was always so magnanimous, putting herself in his shoes to consider his perspective. In comparison, Natalie kept angering him and stirring up trouble every few days!

Abigail continued, “Natalie should’ve cooled down by now. Her brother beat up my cousin, and I’ll lose my voice for a few days. Let’s leave it here, Jeff.”

Her mention of Stephen hitting Felix on the head was no different than adding fuel to the fire.

Jeffrey’s voice was utterly cold. “It’s about time I settled both old and new scores.”

Hearing that, Abigail tugged his sleeve and shook her head repeatedly.

However, he continued, “Natalie knows that you damaged your vocal cords to save me. The incident earlier was clearly a vicious move on her part. I won’t let her off.”

Abigail was about to type another line, but Jeffrey pressed her wrist down. “Go to sleep, Ab. I’ll be right by your side.”

She gripped his hand in turn, closing her eyes in his embrace.

As time slowly passed, the sky gradually darkened, and it was the dead of night. It was already 10:00 pm, but Abigail was still unable to speak.

Jeffrey summoned the doctor, who suggested that Abigail stay in the hospital to be observed for two more days.

Abigail typed, “Jeff, I’m scared of staying all alone in the hospital. Will you spend the night with me?”

She thought Jeffrey would agree without hesitation.

However, he said, “I can’t.”
