Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 67

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 67

Chapter 67

Natalie quickly turned her head away.

Jeffrey suddenly turned around, as if he had eyes on the back of his head. His gaze locked on hers with perfect accuracy.

“Why are you pretending? It’s not like you haven’t seen it before,” he teased.

Natalie stared out toward the balcony. “It’s not that attractive anyway.”

gym,

Jeffrey’s expression darkened. He had a muscular figure from years of going to the including defined abs and perfectly shaped arms… And she said that he wasn’t attractive?

He slammed the bathroom door shut with a thunderous bang. Natalie curled her lips in annoyance. She looked at the floor, then at the couch. Oh, well. She would rather sleep on the

couch.

A little discomfort was better than sharing a bed with Jeffrey. Even if they were to sleep side by side, it would still feel like they were worlds apart.

Natalie lay down on the couch and adjusted her pillow. She turned on her side and shut her eyes. No matter how she tossed and turned, though, she couldn’t fall asleep. In the end, she

opened her eyes again.

His clothes were strewn all across the floor. There were bits and pieces of other things too. It

was a mess.

Natalie couldn’t stand seeing such disorder. She always tidied up quickly so that the bedroom always looked neat and tidy. But now? She wasn’t going to be a free maid anymore. Since she

couldn’t stand the mess, she just would not look at it.

She lay flat on her back and stared at the ceiling.

However, she quickly closed her eyes when she heard Jeffrey’s footsteps coming out of the shower. She could hear him walking around with his wet slippers that were squelching softly. Natalie could already imagine how dirty the floor was getting. She couldn’t take it anymore. How could this man be so dirty?

Annoyed, she tugged the blanket over her head and covered most of her face.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey glanced in her direction. He was wearing nothing but a towel around his waist and hadn’t bothered to put on clothes yet. However, she didn’t spare him a single glance.

Where was her determination in climbing onto his bed and even drugging him back then?

He grabbed his pajamas from the walk–in closet. There was a knock at the door just as he put

them on.

Martha’s voice came from outside. “Sir, ma’am. Are you two asleep?”

Natalie shot upright from the couch.

Oh, no! It was a bedtime inspection.

Jeffrey walked out of the walk–in closet.

Martha continued knocking on the door. “Sir? Ma’am? I’ve warmed some milk. Having a cup before bed will help you sleep better.” She clearly wasn’t going to leave unless she came in.

“Oh, we’re not asleep yet,” Natalie answered. “Wait a moment, I… I need to get dressed!”

The words slipped out before she could even think. Why would she need to get dressed? What was she even saying?

There was a hint of amusement in Martha’s tone. “Ma’am, you can ask Mr. Foster to open the door.‘

“Oh, is that so? Alright then.”

Natalie stood up, grabbed the blanket and pillow from the couch, and rushed into the walk–in closet. There was no time to tidy up. She dumped everything on the floor and closed the sliding door of the walk–in closet. Then, she quickly ran to the bed and slipped under the

covers.

Jeffrey merely watched her in silence.

Natalie hissed. “What are you standing there for? Go and open the door.”

He raised an eyebrow and went to open the door. Martha was standing there with two cups of warm milk. As she spoke, she entered the bedroom. “Sorry to disturb you, sir. I’ll just put the milk down and leave.”

Natalie lay in bed with only her eyes visible above the blanket. She said in a muffled voice,” Thank you, Martha. That’s very thoughtful of you.”

“It’s my duty, ma’am.” Martha placed the milk on the bedside table, subtly surveying the room with her eyes.
