Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 63
Chapter 63
Natalie frowned, thinking Jeffrey was being utterly unreasonable.
He leaned in closer. “Just how much further are you willing to degrade yourself to get my attention?”
Natalie said, “Jeffrey, the most degrading thing I ever did was marrying you.”
She had gambled that he would have a change of heart, that he would see her efforts and deep love for him. In the end, she lost completely.
“Get over yourself,” Natalie said. She had nowhere left to retreat as her back had hit the wall. ”
Everything I do is ultimately for myself, not you.”
How ridiculous! When she had devoted herself entirely to him, he never cared. Now that she was focused solely on herself, he came rushing back. Were all men this despicable?
“And please, show some self–respect.” Natalie looked at the ever–shrinking space between them. “This is a public space. Kindly stay away from me.”
She reached out and poked his chest, trying to push him back. Instead, he pressed directly against her. He was warm and solid. The hem of his suit brushed against her wrist. “Natalie, how many men are you planning to juggle?”
Just Johnson alone was enough to put him in a foul mood. Chandler seemed to be acting differently toward her too. And now, an old man had popped up out of nowhere. What was she doing? Was she really that shameless?
Natalie lifted her chin and answered slowly, “None of your business!”
She shoved him hard with both hands and turned to leave, but he grabbed her wrist.
Right then, a car drove up and stopped right beside them. With one hand holding her and the other pulling the door open, Jeffrey flung her straight into the car.
Natalie stumbled and fell onto the back seat. Before she could even sit up properly, the car was already moving forward.
Jeffrey sat down beside her and crossed his legs. “Back to Foster Garden.”
“Yes, Mr. Foster,” the driver replied.
Stacy, who had just finished her call, turned around and was utterly confused. Where did Natalie go?
“Where’s Nat? Did she leave without even saying a word?” Stacy stood alone in the wind, completely bewildered.

Natalie struggled up and clenched her teeth. “Jeffrey, what are you doing? I’m not going back to Foster Garden with you.”
He scoffed. “You think I want to take you home?”
She shouted, “Then let me out of the car!”
Jeffrey’s expression remained cold. “My grandma wants to see you.”
Hearing that, Natalie’s hand froze on the door handle.
“You know what you’re supposed to do. I don’t need to teach you,” Jeffrey said.
Then, he leaned his head back and closed his eyes. “Behave yourself.”
He started to rest.
Streetlights outside the window flickered past, casting shifting shadows over his defined face. Natalie had been looking at this face for 17 years and still hadn’t grown tired of it. She had watched him grow from a boy into a man.
He had been ambitious and radiant as he slowly climbed to the top. She had silently stayed with him, accompanying him and taking care of all the trivial details of daily life for him.
But everything she had done was utterly worthless in his
eyes.
In Foster Garden, the living room was brightly lit. Natalie walked in and discovered that it wasn’t just Caroline there but Beverly as well.
