Chapter 31
Natalie let out a cold laugh as she clapped slowly in mocking applause. She took the envelope that Jasper handed her and dumped all the evidence onto the coffee table.
“Take a look,” she said flatly. “Enjoy.”
Among the evidence were photos of Imogen and Rowan in bed, underwear-clad pictures Imogen had emailed to Natalie, and hotel check-in records for the two of them both domestically and abroad. There was also a detailed list of luxury purchases Rowan had made for Imogen.
“This… Where did all this come from…” Scarlet stared at the items in disbelief.
Rowan stood rooted to the spot without a word. He saw everything on the coffee table clearly, then finally shifted his gaze to Imogen.
Imogen avoided his eyes, thinking to herself that she was willing to pay any price as long as she could get Rowan to divorce
Natalie.
“This isn’t real.” Scarlet grabbed the photos and documents and tore them apart.
“Madam, if this case truly goes to court, I will report everything truthfully to the judge,” Jasper stepped forward to speak up for Natalie.
Natalie scoffed. “Tear them apart all you want. These are just copies anyway. I have plenty more.”
Then, Natalie took out her phone and said mockingly to Rowan, “Let me play this for you, too.”
“Babe, you’re the only one I love. I’ll take responsibility for you, so I’ll divorce Natalie soon and marry you. In my heart, Natalie’s just a maid who’s good for nothing except lowly labor…”
The phone played a recording from Rowan. His voice was unmistakably from when he was being intimate with Imogen, thanks to the heaving breathing and panting.
Natalie sneered. “I’ve got plenty more recordings like this. Do you want to listen to every single one?”
“You gave this to her?” Rowan demanded, glaring at Imogen.
“Rowan, I’m sorry,” Imogen said. “I… I just couldn’t stand Natalie constantly calling herself your legitimate wife in front of me. I sent her those recordings just to show her her place. Since she wants a divorce, you should just divorce her.”
She decided to just let Natalie have her way, since things had already gone this far. That way, she could openly be together
with Rowan.
Rowan turned back to Natalie, “So, Natalie, you planned all this out? You found out about today’s signing ceremony with Mr. Morris and knew how important this deal was for my standing in the Payne Group. So you deliberately chose this moment to
talk to me about divorce,
“I really underestimated you. I thought you were just a stupid, crude, lowly housewife. I never imagined you’d be so vicious and calculating.”
“Stupid? Crude?” Natalie repeated.
She accepted the first one, since she really had been stupid. If she hadn’t been, how could she have foolishly worked like a maid for Rowan for seven whole years? How could she have given up her own dreams, willingly handling everything at home for him?
As for crude and lowly, a scumbag of a man like him would never be able to see her virtues.
“Enough. Forget about money or a big villa, that’s impossible. The only condition I can agree to is giving you Sarah. She’s just an expensive burden,” Scarlet sald, sighing heavily, as if she were making an enormous concession.
“My daughter is a burden!” Natalie hated it most when Scarlet Insulted Sarah like that.

“My daughter is a burden!” Natalie hated it most when Scarlet insulted Sarah like that.
“She’s always been one!” Scarlet spat. “The Payne family cares only about sons who can inherit the family fortune. Who would ever care about a daughter like her?”
“Then what are you? An animal? Your parents never should have brought you into this world, then. And even if they did, you should’ve been strangled at birth. Why did you even get married? Why didn’t you just go and die?” Natalie blurted in fury.
