Chapter 30
Imogen had wanted Rowan and Natalie to finalize their divorce earlier, but she also understood the importance of the contract signing ceremony. She had planned to take care of it after the ceremony, never expecting Natalie to cause a fuss in front of John.
“I’ll say this one last time,” Rowan hissed. “I don’t care how urgent this is; you have to wait until this event is over.”
“Do you want me to bring up our divorce in front of Mr. Morris?” asked Natalie, not feeling threatened at all.
“Are you trying to threaten me? I’m not someone you can threaten so easily.”
“Try me.” Natalie wouldn’t back down until she got what belonged to her.
At Rowan’s signal, the bodyguards moved in to detain her and Jasper in the lounge.
She saw through him instantly. “Did you think we’re on our own? My friend is giving Mr. Morris’s children swimming
lessons now. Mrs. Morris is there too.
“If I don’t update my friend by 10:00 am, Mrs. Morris will tell Mr. Morris to go home. I’d like to see how you’ll manage to sign the contract then.”
Enraged, Rowan grabbed Natalie by her neck. “Bitch, how dare you set me up? You evil woman, can you possibly sink any lower?”
Natalie struggled with all her might, landing a hard slap on Rowan’s face. For a moment, Rowan was stunned. He never expected her to hit him.
“I…” When Rowan finally came to his senses, a murderous look filled his gaze.
“If something happens to me, I’m going to drag you down with me. I’ve told all the paparazzi to publish my divorce from you if they don’t hear from me by 10:00 am. It’ll definitely dominate the headlines,” said Natalie as she took a step back to prevent herself from getting hit.
Nothing will come out of the two of them arguing like that. Thus, Rowan forced himself to calm down. He took a seat, determined to discuss matters with Natalie and Jasper.
However, Natalie demanded a divorce settlement of 100 million dollars, plus the villa in the southern district. That was a total of at least 160 million. On top of that, she wanted custody of the kids.
Rowan slammed the divorce papers on the table. “Have you lost your mind? What makes you think I’ll give you whatever amount you ask for? Last time, you asked for just 50 million.”
“Don’t give her a single cent.”
The voice came from outside. The lounge door flew open as Scarlet walked in, with Imogen close behind her.
Imogen had called Scarlet, hoping she would stop Natalie. That way, Imogen and Rowan could proceed with the contract signing ceremony.
“You scheming fox!” Scarlet spat. “Back then, you begged Rowan’s grandmother to force him to marry you. You even drugged his food just to get into his bed. That was how you were able to conceive the kids.
“You’ve lived in our house for seven years with everything provided for you. We even paid for your stupid mother’s hospital bills every month.
She no longer held herself back and said, “And now, you’re asking for a large sum of money, the villa, and custody of the kids? What a perfect dream you have!”
“Natalie, you’re really too much. 100 million is a ridiculous amount. Are you trying to scam Rowan?” Imogen asked, her voice
soft.
