Chapter 22
“I, Rowan Payne, only love Imogen Chapman. I only married Natalle back then because my grandma forced me to. I slept. with Natalie because she had set me up and drugged me. That’s why we have two kids.
“I haven’t divorced her simply because she can take care of the kids and do the chores at home for free. I’ll definitely divorce her and kick her out of the house.”
Natalie only found the recording sarcastic but ridiculous. All she had done for Rowan was for nothing, after all.
Rowan was just like Scarlet. The mother and son had been thinking of taking advantage of her before they kicked her out.
In the morning, Rowan only came back after Natalie sent the kids to school and returned home.
“Where are the clothes from yesterday?” Rowan loudly questioned Natalie, who was cleaning the hallway, because he couldn’t find that set of outfits in the bedroom’s wardrobe.
“I threw them away,” Natalie replied, her tone apathetic.
“You threw them away? Why did you do that?” Rowan thought Natalie was just being unreasonable.
“They’re too dirty.” She tossed the cloth she was holding into the bucket and straightened her back as she said, “You’re reluctant to throw them away. Do they hold special meaning to you?”
“Of course… not.” Rowan felt guilty for a split second. “Do whatever you want with them.”
Then, he slammed the door shut, leaving Natalie alone in the hallway.
After getting changed into clean clothes, Rowan left home and went to the office.
Natalie received a message from the deliveryman. She went to the door to take the parcel, and before she could open it, a message came from Imogen.
“You didn’t seem to like the gift yesterday, so I’ve sent a better one to you today.”
Natalie opened up the parcel and found lingerie inside. She stared at it, feeling so disgusted that she stood frozen for a long
time.
“Enjoy looking at it!” A brief moment later, Imogen sent Natalie another text.
Natalie instantly called Jasper to consult with him about whether that could be considered as evidence for Rowan’s affair.
Jasper advised her to send it for examination to prove that the DNA traces on the lingerie belonged to Rowan and Imogen.
The result would only be out in another week, so she could only wait at home.
Since Imogen had shown off her relationship with Rowan, Natalie figured she should fight for her rights over his money and
assets.
Natalie took photos of the gifts given by Matilda and sent them to Imogen. She would tell Imogen that Rowan had specially bought those pieces of valuable jewelry for her. No matter how much Rowan liked Imogen, he would never buy her something so expensive.
In truth, Rowan had only bought a few pieces of jewelry for Natalie, and all of them cost less than tens of thousands of dollars. Matilda was the only one in the Payne family who truly doted on Natalie.
Imogen, who was working at the moment, was displeased when she saw the photos sent by Natalie. She searched on the internet and found out that the diamond necklace cost about five million dollars.
Rowan had bought her many gifts, but they were only worth around hundreds of thousands of dollars. He had never bought her something that expensive.
Natalie texted, “My husband bought this for me as my birthday gift. You said he loves you, but has he gotten you anything
