Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Rowan stared at Imogen’s full, glossy lips, a gulp catching in his throat that he couldn’t suppress. Memories of being with her played through his mind like a movie, every scene vivid and undeniable.

Imogen cupped his face and kissed him boldly.

Tonight, she had to claim Rowan, make him give up on Natalie, and ensure he would marry her once the divorce was finalized.

The last thread of reason in Rowan’s mind snapped him back to reality, and he pushed Imogen away, breaking the kiss.

“No… I should go back…” he murmured.

“Rowan, I love you,” Imogen said, pinning him to the bed and holding his arms down.

“Don’t you love me? You promised you’d only ever love me. You said you’d go insane if you couldn’t marry me… and now I’m right here.

“Don’t you want me? We’ve wasted eight years. How many eight-year stretches do we get in life? Rowan, take me…”

She slowly unbuttoned his shirt, her voice pleading. Heat surged through Rowan, and his emotions spiraled out of control.

He rolled over, locking his gaze on her face. Deep down, he knew without a doubt that this woman was the one he truly loved.

Imogen lifted her chin, her eyes glistening, and stared at the black camera perched on the wardrobe. She pressed her lips together, a triumphant, teasing smile playing across her face.

It didn’t matter that Natalie had been married to Rowan for seven years. In the end, all it would take was a single move, and

he would be back at her side.

“Rowan, do you know who I am?” Imogen leaned close to him and asked softly.

“Imogen… my one true love…” Rowan replied, pressing a kiss near her ear, his deep, husky voice steady and clear.

The next morning, Natalie was up as usual, preparing breakfast for Sarah and Roger.

Roger had received a call from Imogen, and ever since he came downstairs, he hadn’t given Natalie a single friendly glance.

“Sarah, drink your milk while you eat your toast, okay? That way you won’t choke,” Natalie reminded Sarah as she poured

another cup of milk.

“I’m not drinking that gross milk. It tastes awful and isn’t even nutritious. Don’t give me any.” Roger huffed, sitting in his chair with his arms crossed, scowling.

Natalie glanced at Roger as he pouted, and instead of giving him the milk, she lifted the cup and drank it herself.

“You…” Roger grew even angrier. Usually, Natalie would coax him to drink milk, but today she had drunk it herself.

“Roger, if you don’t eat breakfast, you’ll be starving in school. We’re already first graders, and the teachers aren’t going to hand out snacks just for us.” Sarah tried to persuade him again.

“I’m not eating, even if I starve,” Roger said, turning away. “Ms. Chapman is bringing me breakfast soon. It’s made by a five- star chef. It’ll taste way better than this boring breakfast.”

“Sarah, just ignore him,” Natalie said, stuffing the last piece of toast into her mouth.

As she grabbed the kids’ backpacks, ready to take them to school, Rowan suddenly got out of the car parked in the yard.

He was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday, but unlike usual, he hadn’t dressed as meticulously as he normally did
