“I’m gonna
be gone most of the day,” I said, watching him munch contentedly. “There will be no fancy treats, no special attention. Just kibble and naps, okay?”
He barked like he didn’t mind.
“Maybe I should’ve left you where you were comfortable.” I muttered to myself.
Tiger leaned into my hand, and I smiled.
“I’ll be back early. Be good.” I promised and stood up.
I double–checked his food, water, and the lock on the window. He was trained, but this house was still a battlefield.
I grabbed my bag and stepped out, shutting the door softly behind me.
