Sebastian shifted slightly in his wheelchair and sighed again. “Are we there yet?” he asked for the third time in the last five minutes.
I couldn’t stop the smile that curved on my lips as I pushed him forward, my hands wrapped firmly around the handles. “Almost there, Sebastian, just a little more.”
He huffed but didn’t argue. Instead, he stretched his hands out in front of him, bumping the air as if he could somehow feel where we were going. The blindfold I had tied over his eyes sat a little crooked now, proof of how restless he was. I shook my head in amusement.
He really looked adorable.
A while ago, he had finally been discharged from the hospital. The doctor said his condition had improved a lot, that as long as he was careful, attended regular checkups, and came in for bandage changes on his head, he would be fine. The wheelchair was still necessary for now because walking was difficult, but even that was temporary.
I had never been so happy to hear words like you can take him home today.
Sebastian hated hospitals. I knew that better than anyone. They reminded him too much of the past, of the time I had been the one lying unconscious while he waited in cold hallways, terrified that he would lose me too. That was why I wanted him out of there as soon as possible, breathing fresh air, sleeping in a real bed, surrounded by people who cared about him.
“Violet,” he said after a moment, tilting his head slightly beneath the blindfold. “You’re acting strange. Where are you taking me? Don’t tell me this apartment you rented is so amazing that you had to blindfold me.”
I smirked, biting back a laugh, but said nothing. I didn’t want to spoil the surprise.
When we finally reached the door, I stopped pushing the wheelchair. I stepped closer to him and placed my hand on the door handle.
“We’re here, Seb. You can take it off now.”
He scoffed lightly. “You’re being dramatic,” he muttered, reaching up to pull the blindfold off. His gaze darted from the door back to me, lingering for a moment before flicking around the house. When his eyes settled again on me, an eyebrow arched at the familiarity of the place.
“What is this-”
I turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.
Confetti exploded into the air.
“Surprise!”
“Surprise!”
“Welcome home, Sebastian!”
“Surprise, young master.”
Standing right in front of us were Penelope, Kai, Naomi, and Levi, confetti poppers in their hands, colorful pieces raining down everywhere.
Sebastian froze. His mouth fell open as he stared at them before looking at the house in front of him, his eyes wide and

“V-Violet,” He said softly, his voice shaky and clearly overwhelmed. He looked around again, as if he thought he was seeing things. “What… what is the meaning of this? Why are we at this house?”
I smiled, understanding why his hands were gripping the armrests of his wheelchair so tightly. Of course he would be shocked. This house wasn’t just a house. It was our family’s second home.
Before our parents and elder brother died, we had two houses. The main one, the one my uncle and his family now lived in, and this place. Even though it was smaller, this house held memories.
We all loved it the most. Every holiday, every school break, every excuse to escape the city, our parents brought us here. We laughed here. Fought here. Ate together here. Slept piled up in the living room on movie nights. And after our parents and brother died, my aunt sold it without hesitation.
Back then, I told myself it didn’t matter, but it did. It belonged to my family, and they had no right to give it away.
When Sebastian told me one night that he missed this place, I searched for it. I didn’t believe it would still be available. But somehow, it was. I didn’t even get the chance to ask Hades, the moment he found out what I was looking for, he bought it.
My ears flushed at the thought. Hades really did everything for me without a second thought. Sometimes, I had no idea how I could ever repay him for everything.
I ignored the fluttering in my chest and leaned forward, gently squeezing Sebastian’s shoulder before pushing his wheelchair forward. “What do you mean, why are we here? This is our home.”
I rolled him fully inside.
The moment we crossed the doorway, he froze. His eyes widened as his gaze slowly moved around the living room. Everything was exactly the same. The furniture placement. The colors. Even the old clock on the wall that used to tick too loudly at night.
“H-how?” he whispered. “How is this possible?”
I watched his expression carefully. “It still looks the same, right?”
He nodded slowly, his lips trembling. “Y-yes,” he whispered. “Exactly the same.”
I stopped near the dining table, and only then did I notice just how much food had been prepared. The table was filled with food. I was even taken aback.
Sebastian swallowed. “That’s… a lot.”
Penelope laughed. “Yeah. Naomi woke up early just to cook all of this. I helped her, and these two handled the decorations.” She pointed at Kai and Levi.
I glanced at Levi. He stood a little straighter when mentioned.
For some reason, Levi had been following me around all day. When I finally asked him why, he said Hades had tasked him with making sure everything I wanted was handled properly. Normally, I hated being followed but Levi was different. He didn’t interfere, or hover. He was simply there in a way that made it hard to complain. So I let him stay.
Levi stepped forward. He straightened his posture and bowed politely in front of Sebastian. “Hello, young master Sebastian. I am Levi.”
Sebastian blinked, clearly caught off guard. He glanced at me, then back at Levi, one eyebrow lifting. “Young master?”
I sighed softly and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Just leave it,” I muttered under my breath. “He won’t listen. He calls me madam all the time too, and no matter how many times I tell him not to, he refuses.”

Sebastian paused, then gave a small nod. “Ah… I see.” He turned back to Levi, offering a polite smile. “Hello.”

Before anything else could be said, Naomi appeared, her face lighting up the moment she saw Sebastian properly. “Oh, so you’re Sebastian,” she said warmly as she walked closer. “I’m Naomi, dear. I’ve heard so much about you. I’m so happy to finally meet you.”
She reached out without hesitation, cupping his cheeks affectionately. “You’re so adorable.”
Sebastian stiffened in shock, clearly not used to this kind of attention. His face flushed red almost instantly, and for a second he looked like he didn’t know what to do.
I smiled, watching him struggle. “You’ll get used to it,”
He nodded awkwardly, still blushing.
Naomi clapped her hands together. “Alright, enough standing around. Let’s eat. We cooked so much. You must be hungry,” she said enthusiastically. “You’ll love my cooking, I promise.”
Before Sebastian could even reply, she was already wheeling him toward the dining table, talking the entire time. I watched them with a smile. Seeing my brother relaxed and safe, surrounded by people who cared about him like this made something inside me loosen.
I wasn’t going to let him suffer anymore.
I was still watching Sebastian when Penelope and Kai stepped in front of me, blocking my view. I raised an eyebrow at them. immediately sensing something was off. Penelope grabbed my hand without warning.
“Come on,” she said. “We need to show you something.”
Before I could protest, she was already pulling me upstairs. Kai followed silently behind us.
When we reached the terrace, Penelope finally let go of my hand. As I turned to face them fully, I saw their expressions, they were furious. It was as if the masks they’d worn downstairs had finally slipped, revealing exactly what they were feeling.
I frowned slightly. “What happened?”
Penelope crossed her arms, her jaw tight. “Violet, I don’t care what you say. We are going to murder those bitches.”
I stared at her. “What?”
She pulled out her phone and shoved it in front of my face. On the screen was a bold headline.
