Healing Slowly But Surely By R. Joseph 106 Summary

In “Healing Slowly But Surely,” Chalice returns home late at night, visibly shaken and disheveled after a chaotic encounter involving a fight between her friends, Abby and Chantel. Caelum, her concerned companion, immediately senses her distress and tries to comfort her, but he is also unsettled by her unusual scent, which hints at the intensity of the night’s events. As he helps her clean up, their interaction becomes charged with tension, revealing a deep emotional connection between them.

Chalice, despite her exhaustion, expresses a sudden desire for intimacy, catching Caelum off guard. He struggles with his feelings, torn between his desire for her and his concern for her well-being. As she playfully insists on being together, the atmosphere shifts from care to a more passionate encounter. Their chemistry ignites, leading them to a moment of fervent connection, where they abandon restraint and surrender to their desires.

However, amidst the passion, Chalice is haunted by memories of a threatening encounter with another man, Louis, who had exerted control over her life. This internal conflict complicates her experience with Caelum, as she grapples with feelings of guilt and fatigue from her previous encounter. The physical connection with Caelum becomes a temporary escape, yet it also highlights her emotional turmoil and the toll of her chaotic life.

As their encounter unfolds, Chalice feels both pleasure and exhaustion, revealing the complexities of her desires and the weight of her past. Caelum’s tenderness contrasts with her inner conflict, and the chapter ends with a sense of vulnerability as Chalice acknowledges her fatigue and the emotional scars she carries. **Caelum.**

The clock was inching toward midnight when Chalice finally staggered through the door, her appearance a chaotic reflection of the night’s events. Her eyes were glassy, hinting at exhaustion, while her lipstick was smudged, a stark contrast to her usually polished look. Her clothes hung awkwardly on her frame, and her hair was a wild mess, reminiscent of a bird’s nest after a storm.

I felt my heart drop at the sight of her. My eyes widened in concern, and I sprang to my feet, instinctively wrapping my arms around her delicate shoulders. “What happened to you?” I asked, my voice laced with worry.

“Abby and Chantel got into a fight,” she hiccuped, her voice shaky. “…and I was rough-housed while trying to separate them.”

I didn’t know who Chantel was, but I had a vague recollection of Abby. My gaze softened as I processed her words. I pulled her closer, feeling the warmth of her body against mine, and began to stroke her hair gently, hoping to soothe her.

Yet, I couldn’t shake off a lingering feeling of unease. With her body so close, I caught a whiff of something different on her skin. It was wild, almost primal, with a hint of masculinity that sent a chill down my spine, making me feel more unsettled than comforted.

Leaning in, I inhaled deeply, burying my face in the crook of her neck. “You smell… weird,” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

She paused, confusion flickering across her features. “Huh?”

“I said you smell weird. Different, even.”

Chalice let out a chuckle, but it was strained, lacking its usual warmth. “If I smell weird, it must be the mix of several people’s scents on me. The fight was pretty intense. Some shirtless boys who were skateboarding had to jump in to break it up.”

Oh.

Her explanation made sense, and I felt the tension in my chest ease slightly. I pushed aside my unwelcome thoughts and gently helped her to her feet again. This time, as I lifted her in a bridal carry toward the bathroom, she didn’t protest. She let me guide her, even allowing me to assist her in removing her clothes and shoes.

As I settled her into the tub filled with warm water, I spoke softly, “You should bathe now, okay? I’ll go whip up something for you to eat.”

Just as I turned to grab some shampoo, her hands suddenly clasped around my wrists. “I’ve had dinner,” she purred, her voice sultry.

I smiled, trying to keep the mood light. “Okay, that’s fine then.”

“And I want you.”

The air in the room seemed to thicken, and I froze, my heart racing. My eyes widened in disbelief, and I gulped, feeling a dryness in my throat. Chalice began to tease her hardened nipples, making low, seductive sounds, her gaze fixed on mine with an intensity that made my heart pound.

“Come join me,” she drawled, her voice dripping with invitation.

Oh, how I wanted to. The desire surged within me like a tidal wave.

“No, baby. You don’t seem too… you don’t seem too good, and my brothers… they’re not here… you know what I mean!” I stuttered, heat flooding my cheeks as I tried to maintain some semblance of restraint.

But Chalice was undeterred.

Slowly, she rose from the tub, water cascading down her flawless skin like glistening jewels. My breath hitched at the sight, and I felt my resolve weaken.

“Chalice…” I started, but she silenced me with a finger pressed to my lips.

“Shhh…!” she whispered, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

“But…”

“Shut up and fuck me!” she snapped, impatience lacing her tone, and I felt my jaw drop once more.

I attempted to push her away, to regain control, but her hands were already trailing down my body, igniting my skin with every touch. The more I resisted, the harder it became to think straight.

She blocked my path as I attempted to step out of the bathroom, tilting her head with a playful pout. “You don’t want me?”

Her voice held a hint of hurt, and I felt a pang of guilt. It was instinctive; I wrapped my arms around her once more, my heart softening. Leaning closer, I whispered into her ear, enjoying the way her skin reacted to my breath. “I want you… you know I do. You know I always would. But baby, you need to rest. You seem very tired, and I want you to—”

Before I could finish, she wrapped her arms around my shoulders, pulling me close, and crashed her lips against mine.

My body ignited with desire, and with all the restraint I had left evaporating, I kissed her back fiercely, lifting her into my arms.

Her legs wrapped around my waist, and I groaned in satisfaction as our lips moved together in a fevered dance. The urgency of our movements spoke volumes; it felt as though we were two souls trying to merge into one.

Suddenly, she broke away, leaning back to struggle with my zipper. The sight of her determination made me chuckle, and I gently took her trembling hands in mine. “Wait, let me help you.”

“But… but I want to!” she gasped, her voice strained, her eyes filled with a burning desire that made my knees weak.

In an instant, my clothes were discarded, and before I knew it, I was sinking into the bathtub with Chalice straddling me.

Her eyes sparkled with a mix of joy and something deeper, a hunger that made my heart race as she took me fully inside her.

And goddess, she was warm. Sweet, wet, and undeniably mine.

“Faster, baby! Faster… urgh, ahh, deeper! I want to feel you all the way to my womb!” I cried out, urging Caelum on as he plunged into me with wild abandon.

His thrusts were relentless, almost brutal, as if he were trying to contain a beast within him that was desperate to be unleashed. And that was exactly what I craved.

I leaned against the sink, closing my eyes, surrendering to the sensations as his fingers dug into my hips, driving deeper with each thrust.

As the sound of our bodies colliding filled the air, I couldn’t help but recall the last time I had heard those same sounds—just hours ago with Louis.

His voice echoed in my mind, gruff and commanding. “Henceforth, we’re to meet on my terms. You will come to me when I want you, and you’ll give yourself willingly to me whenever I desire.”

But that wasn’t what I wanted. I knew how dangerous it could be.

My eyes had flashed with defiance as I glared at him, my voice dripping with venom. “And if I don’t?”

Louis had merely shrugged, a confident smile on his lips. “If you don’t, then be prepared to lose everything you hold dear. I’ll make sure everyone knows you murdered your grandmother in cold blood… and that it was you in that scandalous video, not your sister.”

The memory made my breath hitch, and I trembled, Caelum misinterpreting my reaction as pleasure.

He picked up the pace, driving deeper, harder, and I felt myself unraveling. I thrashed wildly, feeling as though I might explode from the intensity of it all.

“Tell me, do you like it?” he murmured, pressing his lips against my cheek.

I didn’t respond. I simply nodded, surrendering to the moment.

He groaned, pulling back almost completely before slamming into me with a force that made me whimper.

“Use your words, cupcake. Do you like what I do to you?” he coaxed, his grip firm yet gentle on my chin.

“Yes, yes… I do!” I gasped, my voice laced with feigned ecstasy. “Fuck me harder!”

But in truth, I didn’t want him to continue. I just wanted him to leave me be.

I had already taken what I needed from him; his essence now inside me, and I was done pretending to be swept away in the throes of passion.

Fatigue washed over me, especially since this was the second time I had been with a man that day. I slumped against the sink, closing my eyes, longing for respite.

It wasn’t until then that Caelum finally pulled away, leaving me feeling hollow and spent.

He pressed a tender kiss to my temple, his voice soft and intimate. “I told you you were too tired to take me.”

And yes, I was. I was exhausted from being tossed around by another man.
