A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy’s Woman 123
Chapter 123
The thought of that possibility made Noah feel as though he couldn’t breathe.
“Did you find anything?” he asked, gripping his phone.
The person on the other end of the line answered, “Mr. Vazquez, we found it. A VIP patient was admitted to the ICU today. They restricted access to ensure confidentiality.”
Noah felt the ball of tension in his chest ease at the news. “I got it. Check where Bethany is.”
“Alright.”
Noah closed his eyes, Bethany’s stunning face flashing in his mind. It strangely left him wanting more.
Meanwhile, Bethany clutched her phone, debating whether to call Silas or not. Finally, she
dialed his number.
The call connected almost instantly. “Hello.”
“Silas, it’s me.” Bethany sensed that it was very quiet on the other end of the line. “When are you coming back?”
“Do you miss me?” Silas chuckled lightly. “I’ll be back in about three days.”
Bethany said, “Oh, it’s nothing. It’s just… Grandma is in the hospital. I wanted to let you know.
Silas’s voice turned cold. “What happened? Why is she suddenly in the hospital?”
His anxious questions made Bethany’s throat tighten. She choked up a little. “It’s fine. Grandma is in the ICU now, so don’t worry. I’m not asking you to do anything. I just didn’t want you to say that I kept things from you again.”
“Okay, I understand. Are you at the hospital now?” Silas asked.
Bethany sniffled. “Yeah. I’ll go back home in a bit.”
“Bethany,” Silas suddenly called out softly. “Wait for me to come back.”
Bethany fought the urge to cry. “Okay.”
After she hung up, a news notification popped up on her phone.

“Diana Reeves Publicly Severs Ties With Her Daughter!”
Bethany’s breath hitched. With trembling fingers, she tapped the screen to open the article.
“According to an interview, Mrs. Reid has always had a strained relationship with her biological daughter, Bethany Porter. A few days ago, Ms. Porter lashed out and got physical over a minor issue. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Mrs. Reid reached this decision.”
Attached to the article was a cold, formal statement.
Bethany only found it laughable. It seemed that she had gone too easy on them.
Easton knew about her relationship with Diana and sent her a message. “Ms. Porter, are you okay?”
Bethany was about to reply when she heard a nurse mention Sarah’s name.
She rushed over. “How is my grandmother?”
The nurse replied, “The patient just had a seizure. Please calm down, ma’am. We’re resuscitating her!”
Perhaps she was too exhausted, or her blood sugar was low. Bethany felt everything go black before she passed out.
“Ma’am! Ma’am!”
When Bethany regained consciousness, cool fingertips were resting on her forehead.
“Don’t move. You’re getting an IV.”
Bethany looked up in confusion. A handsome face came into view.
“Silas?” She suddenly panicked. “Where is Grandma? I need to see her! She was being resuscitated!”
“It’s okay now,” Silas said calmly. “Don’t worry. I hired a leading specialist from Latveria to treat her personally. With me here, you don’t have to worry about Sarah.”
He leaned in closer, a trace of heartache flashing in his
eyes.
“But Mrs. Brennan, I’ve only been gone a few days. How did you manage to push yourself so far that you fainted?” s
