A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy’s Woman 106
Chapter 106
Silas rested his forehead against Bethany’s, his breath hot and unsteady. “Next time, prepare something like this as a gift for me. Understood?”
“You’re shameless!” Bethany bit her lip and scolded him.
Silas stared at her lips, now vividly flushed from his kissing, and let out a soft scoff. “Yes, I am a shameless person. Then stop arranging things for me in the future.”
Bethany was rendered speechless.
Gary frowned at Ella and sighed heavily. “Just apologize, and this will be over. Ella, why are you so stubborn? Do you really want to watch the company’s stock price keep falling?”
Ella’s eyes were swollen and red. “Dad, I won’t apologize to her! Why does she get to marry Silas? With her own abilities, that would never have been possible!”
Gary shrugged helplessly. “I truly didn’t arrange it. Ella, don’t you understand that I love you?

He would sacrifice anyone for gain, but never at Ella’s expense.
Noah was someone he had watched grow up and was also the son–in–law most suited to Ella.
Unfortunately, Ella was trapped in constant comparison with Bethany and could no longer see things clearly.
“Ella, do you really think she’ll live worry–free just because she married Mr. Brennan? Silas likes men. What he wants is merely a well–behaved woman, a qualified wife who can deal with family troubles. How could she possibly compare to you?”
Ella understood all of this, but she was unwilling to accept it.
“What if Silas ends up liking her later on?”
Gary replied without hesitation, “Impossible! If Silas likes women, he wouldn’t have fallen out with Noah.”
Noah initially disliked Silas precisely because of his sexual orientation. He hated homosexuals the most.
Ella remained stubborn. “I won’t apologize! Even if you beat me to death, I won’t apologize!”
Chapter 106
“You! You are impossible!” Gary trembled with rage.
“Fine! I am who I am! Then go ahead and treat Bethany as your biological daughter instead!”
With that, Ella got into her car and drove off in a rage.
After Gary and Ella finished arguing, Diana slowly came into view. She asked, “Gary, will Ella be alright?”
“Don’t worry about her. She has been spoiled by me and is far too willful.”
As she drove, Ella cried as she called Noah.
Through sobs, she said, “Noah-”
Before she could finish, Noah cut her off. “Are the things circulating online true? Did Axel from your orchestra frame Bethany? He has no reason to do that. Ella, was this something you instructed?”
Ella’s heart lurched. She gripped the steering wheel tightly. “No! It wasn’t me. Axel had gambling debts!”
“Then why was the last call he made before his arrest to you? Ella, I don’t tolerate lies.”
His words struck her deeply, and tears poured down her face. “Noah, please listen. I was jealous that you and Bethany were secretly seeing each other while I was abroad.”
Noah went still, then fell silent.
“No matter how well you hid it, I still found out. Back then, I had no status and wasn’t even in the country. Didn’t I at least have the right to be angry?”
“Ella…”
“Noah, I care about you too much. Can you forgive me for this once?”
Before he could respond, the shrill screech of brakes tore through the line, followed by a
violent impact and a woman’s piercing scream.
The color drained from Noah’s face as he roared into the phone, “Ella!”
