A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy’s Woman 101
Chapter 101
Ella simply could not believe it. Silas and Bethany, the two people who should have had nothing to do with each other, had somehow ended up married.
“Dad, you’re not joking with me, are you? Didn’t you say before that she was supposed to be married to Mr. Brannon?”
Gary exhaled deeply. Truth be told, he wished Bethany’s husband were Cyrus.
“Bethany is capable. She made this happen on her own. I don’t have the influence to persuade the Brennan family.”
Ella only felt worse after hearing that. She hung up the phone, needing a moment to calm
herself.
She didn’t know what she’d do if Noah learned about this. After all, she knew exactly how terrifying a man’s possessiveness and competitive drive could be.
If Bethany had married some insignificant nobody, Noah might only have felt humiliated and disdainful. But she had married Silas, his sworn rival.
Just thinking about Noah losing his mind over this made Ella’s thoughts spiral out of control. She had to keep the news sealed tight. At the very least, before Silas and Bethany’s official announcement, she had to register her marriage with Noah.
Almost half a day had passed since the video was handed over to the police. John was restless.” Ms. Porter, could Mr. Vazquez have bribed the police?”
Bethany shook her head. “Unlikely. Let’s wait a little longer. We should have faith in them.”
Not long after, the widespread online smear campaign against Elysian was finally cleared up.
“After investigation, Mr. Whitman’s claim that his violin was damaged was found to be self- staged and unrelated to Elysian Hotel. The police will continue with follow–up investigations.”
A simple notice with white text on a blue background dismantled the accusations and dealt with those who had cyberbullied Bethany.
Ella’s ambiguous Instagram post was swiftly deleted, and her comment section was immediately disabled.
Only then did netizens realize that, after two days of relentless attacks, they had taken the wrong side. Many returned to Bethany’s page to offer apologies.

Chapter 101
Throughout it all, Bethany said nothing. She cleared her private messages with a single action and deleted the cruise–deck photo she had once been fond of.
The farce was finally over.
Bethany returned to the company with decisive force, heading straight for Antonio’s office. She shoved the door open without courtesy, startling the man inside.
“Uncle Antonio, you seem quite relaxed. The company was facing a major crisis, yet you were nowhere to be seen. Is this how you fulfill your role as the CEO?”
Cornered by Bethany’s accusation, Antonio struggled for words. “Beth, weren’t you the one in charge? With you holding down the front line, I had to keep the rear stable.”
Bethany didn’t buy this explanation. “Tomorrow, I’ll convene a shareholders‘ meeting. The position of CEO will be reconsidered. You’re not getting any younger. If you’re no longer up for the job, early retirement would be better.”
Antonio sprang to his feet. “Bethany, what are you implying? You want to force me out? I’m the CEO! The hotel exists today because of my contributions. You’ve forgotten where you came from!”
Bethany had not intended to tear things apart so quickly, but a parasite undermining the company from within had to be removed.
“Uncle Antonio, the one who’s forgotten his roots is you. If it weren’t for this family tie, I would have replaced you long ago. Do you really not know how many of your relatives are embedded in the company? So what if you’re the CEO? I’m now Elysian’s sole shareholder.”
In front of Antonio, she called William and instructed, “Draft a notice removing Antonio from the CEO position.”
William’s heart skipped a beat. “Ms. Porter… Did I hear that correctly?”
“You did. Prepare it first. I’ll announce it at tomorrow’s shareholders‘ meeting.”
Antonio glared at Bethany, nearly a generation younger than him, seething with anger. ” Bethany, you’re not the only shareholder! Even as the majority shareholder, you can’t dictate every minority vote. Let’s see if you can really fire me tomorrow.”
Bethany smiled faintly. “Very well. Let’s wait and see.”
After returning to the operations department and briefly greeting Easton, Bethany left.
