Nothando : detention, nothing major and besides,the day is over now. How are you feeling?

Naomi : your positions helped a lot thank you

She smiles

Nothando : I’m glad. I brought us snacks.

Naomi : your mom agreed for you to come here?

Nothando : yeah,your mom scored herself a few points that day,she agreed because I was talking about you.

Naomi : weeh, I wonder what my mom said. Let’s go watch TV. I have to cook supper.

I said getting up and we walked out of my room to the kitchen.

Nothando : can I help?

Naomi : no it’s okay,I’ll make something quick and simple.

Nothando : thank God you said that,I’m tired and I still have homeworks to write.

Naomi : actually,you can help me dice the tomatoes.

Nothando : No!! You’re so unbelievable. You said you’ll be okay on your own.

Naomi : yeah well I might need your help.

She sulked and I laughed at her.

Naomi : I’m joking. Go watch TV.

She smiled and ran off to the lounge. I made pap and gravy and fried chicken. I dished up for us and we shared my plate then we wrote our homeworks together. Around 7:30pm she went back to her house. My mom got home as I was washing my plate

Saronah : your principal tells me that you are not okay?

Naomi : periods,I’ll be fine though

I smiled assuring her.

Saronah : that bad?

Naomi : yeah,worse than they usually are.

She sighs and places a brown paper bag on the counter.

Saronah : drink your meds and go to bed,I forwarded your homeworks to you.

Naomi : thanks Mom, Goodnight.

Saronah : take the paper bag with you Warona.

I took the paper bag from the counter and went to my room, finished up all my homeworks and drank this medication before going to bed.
