Sloane didn’t ignore the message this time as she had before. Instead, she responded with a direct provocation.
“Vivian, you actually already know about Logan and me, don’t you? If you care so much about your quality of life, why are you still clinging so tightly to Logan?”
Vivian looked at the message without a single change in expression. Then, she mimicked Sloane’s tone and replied, “Ms. Mercer, you should also know that Logan has only ever intended to keep you hidden outside and never dared to leave even a trace of your relationship in front of me. You’re in such a hurry to get ahead of me, but isn’t that because Logan can’t give you what you actually want?”
After that message was sent, Sloane never replied again.
But Vivian felt that it still wasn’t quite enough, so she decided to fan the flames.
“I’m actually really enjoying you panicking while Logan tries so hard to hide everything from me. You don’t even dare let Logan know you contacted me, so how do you have the nerve to ask me these questions? Ms. Mercer, you’re honestly ridiculous.”
After she sent that message, the locksmith arrived at the townhouse.
Vivian put her phone away and stopped reading the messages.
Sloan clenched her teeth as she looked at Vivian’s messages. She was so overcome with emotion that even the hand gripping her phone was trembling.
Her face flushed red, unable to vent her anger.
She suddenly yanked off the gold bracelet on her wrist and hurled it hard onto the floor.
Outside the room, Diana heard the noise and came over, pushing the door. “Sloane, what are you doing? You didn’t fall, did you? You have to be careful. Don’t hurt my precious grandson.”
Sloane took a deep breath and forced her emotions under control. Then, she picked the gold bracelet up from the floor again. “It’s nothing, Mrs. Whitfield. I just dropped something.”
Diana complained, “Hurry up and open the door. It’s broad daylight, so why are you locking yourself in at home?”

Sloane was so angry that her whole body trembled.
Just thinking about how Vivian must have had a look of disdain while she read her provocative message made Sloane unable to bear it.
Diana kept urging her to open the door.
Suppressing her fury, Sloane walked over and opened the door.
Diana scolded her. “Sloane, from now on, don’t lock your door when I’m around. I need to keep an eye on you at all times.”
Perhaps because of her hormones acting strangely due to her pregnancy, the usually tolerant Sloane refused to swallow this humiliation in silence. “Mrs. Whitfield, there seems to be a problem with the bracelet you bought for me.”

She raised her wrist and held the exposed silver patch on the bracelet up in front of Diana’s eyes. “This is gold–plated silver, isn’t it?”
Diana hadn’t expected Sloane to notice so quickly. Her face flushed in embarrassment, but she quickly decided to strike first. “It was a perfectly fine bracelet. How did you manage to damage it in less than an hour?”
Sloane was young and never imagined Diana would counter her so sharply. She froze on the
spot.
Seeing her fall silent, Diana said even more indignantly, “I got you that bracelet just so you’d have something new to wear. It’s just something for outsiders to look at, so there’s no need to spend that much money. You’re already living off Logan, so don’t set your demands so high.”
Sloane’s face went pale; she couldn’t even get a word out.
Diana glanced at her, then walked over and sat down on the couch arrogantly.
She might not be able to control Vivian, but controlling Sloane was another matter entirely.
