Chapter 34
Diana took the bank card Logan handed her, gripping it tightly. The disdain in her voice was impossible to hide. “Once the child in Sloane’s belly is born, you’ll have to spend money on so many things. Why waste so much on Vivian?
“She’s just an orphan dragging along an old woman. She’s already lucky enough to be able to get married to you.”
Logan’s expression darkened as he looked at Diana in silence.
Diana pursed her lips, then awkwardly stuffed the bank card into her pocket. She said unhappily, “Fine, fine. I’ll listen to you. I’ll contact her this afternoon and take her out shopping.”
After signing the contract at the Edgewell Group, Vivian had lunch with Connor.
Connor had other arrangements in the afternoon, so Vivian returned to her home.
She was just about to message Theo about the contract for her shares in the Whitfield Group when she received the call from Diana.

Ever since Logan had Diana sent back to the countryside, Diana had placed the blame squarely
on Vivian.
Over the years, whether it was a festival or a birthday, Diana had never replied to any messages Vivian sent.
Even when Vivian and Logan had just decided to get married and informed her, Diana had said she would remain an uninvolved bystander. She told them to arrange everything themselves and that she would simply show up for the banquet.
For someone who had never replied to her messages all these years, to suddenly take the initiative to contact her was certainly unusual.
Vivian answered the call, keeping her tone polite and composed. “Mrs. Whitfield.”
Diana was very dissatisfied with how Vivian addressed her, and she said in an insincere tone, ” You and Logan are about to get married. Shouldn’t you be calling me something else now?”
Vivian replied calmly, “The wedding hasn’t been held yet, and you haven’t even given me your blessing to change my term of address. I think I’ll keep calling you Mrs. Whitfield for now.‘
Diana had no response to that.

Because of Logan’s instructions, she could only swallow her anger and keep herself from lashing out.
She said, “You and Logan will be holding your wedding in a few days. It’s tradition for the groom’s family to buy gold jewelry for the bride before the wedding. I happen to be in the city today, so let’s take this chance to get everything ready.”
Vivian could hear how much Diana was holding back her frustrations.
Over the years, Vivian had bought Diana quite a few things and never received anything in
return.
Now that she was about to leave, why not take what was offered?
Vivian replied, “Sure. I’m free today as well. Where are you? I can pick you up.”
Diana said, “I’m at a friend’s place right now, so no need to pick me up. Let’s just meet at the
mall.”
Vivian hadn’t actually intended to pick Diana up anyway, so she agreed immediately.
She went to the jewelry store first and picked out some styles she liked.
By the time Diana arrived, Vivian had already selected the heaviest gold pieces in the entire mall. There were five items in total.
After learning the price, Diana nearly blacked out.
She said, “Vivian, after you and Logan get married, you’ll probably want to have children quickly. Gold prices are so high right now. It would be better if you just do it symbolically and save the money for later.”
Vivian responded, “These pieces are meant to be displayed in front of the guests on the wedding day. Logan cares about appearances. If we buy too few or pieces that are too small, wouldn’t that just embarrass him?”
Diana was left speechless, and she shot an unhappy look at the shop assistant.
The shop assistant said, “We also have gold–plated silver pieces. They look exactly the same as solid gold, so outsiders can’t tell the difference at all. They’re perfect for the show, and the price is very reasonable.”
Diana nodded in a hurry. “That sounds great.”
The shop assistant nodded. “I’ll bring them out for you to take a look right away.”
Vivian sat to the side with a cool, indifferent expression and didn’t voice any opinion. As she

looked around casually, she noticed the crystal bracelet on Diana’s wrist.
