“Yes, sir.”
The sound of footsteps followed.
Livia, eavesdropping outside, quickly turned and walked toward the elevator to avoid being caught. The elevator doors opened, but she didn’t step inside immediately. She waited until Lucius’s assistant emerged from the office and walked over before she entered.
As the doors closed, Livia initiated the conversation. “You know, I only know you as Lucius’s assistant. I don’t even know your name.”
The assistant was surprised she was speaking to him. After a slight pause, he answered hesitantly, “You can just call me Aidric, Ms. Tyson.”
“Aidric, got it,” Livia said with a smile.
Lost in her beautiful smile, Aidric seemed momentarily dazed.
Certain that he had a crush on her, Livia feigned curiosity. “Aidric, who’s Trudy?”
At the name, Aidric stiffened, his expression turning serious. “Ms. Tyson, were you eavesdropping at the door again?”
“Just as I thought,” Livia mused. “He’s worried about me. His warning last time wasn’t a coincidence. Maybe I can really get some information out of him.”
“I wasn’t eavesdropping,” she explained quickly. “I was waiting for you outside to ask if Lucius had eaten. I just happened to overhear.”
Aidric’s expression grew more complex, his tone more stern. “Ms. Tyson, you really shouldn’t
Mr. Lincoln or not, it’s dangerous.”
do things like that. Whether it’s out of concern for?
Livia looked hurt. “… Alright. I just wanted to know if Lucius was going to give away the meal I made for him again. You saw what happened last time, he just handed it over to that man, Milton.”
Aidric looked conflicted, unsure how to respond.
Livia watched his subtle expressions, thinking, “He must feel so sorry for me right now–so devoted to Lucius, yet so unloved.”
Men who silently adored their master’s woman were always the most sentimental. All she had to do was make him pity her more, and getting information would be easy.
“So who is this Trudy? Is she Lucius’s new lover?” Livia’s voice cracked as if she were about to cry. “I thought getting rid of Honora was enough, but now he’s found another woman…”
“It’s not like that,” Aidric blurted out.

Livia was on the verge of tears. “Then what is it like? Who is she? Lucius sounded so excited on the phone with her, but with me, his own fiancée, he’s so cold.”
Aidric looked deeply conflicted. The elevator reached the ground floor.
“Just… don’t ask any more questions,” he said. “The less you know, the better.”
With that, he controlled his emotions and strode out of the elevator.
Livia watched his retreating back, her performance over. It seemed she would have to make him pity her even more to get any information out of him.
After leaving the asylum, Haskell drove Larissa to Starlight Media.
Before getting out of the car, Larissa said, “Now that we have a lead on your brother, I’ll do everything I can to help find him. It would be best to locate him before our wedding. I want him to be there to witness such an important day for you.”
Haskell’s gaze softened. “No, Larissa. I want to find him before your birthday and bring him to your party.”
Larissa smiled. “Even better.”
She waved. “Bye. We’ll video chat tonight.”
