Chapter 507
Lucius found Damon’s sycophantic words more ironic than comforting.
“Is that so?” he asked coldly. “No one dares to cross me? Then who among you ever imagined that a woman like Larissa would dare to oppose me?”
“Mr. Lincoln,” Damon quickly explained, “Larissa is only acting this way because her marriage to Haskell gives her a false sense of security!”
It was the only explanation Lucius could come up with himself, too. Where else would Larissa get the audacity to defy him time and time again?
Over the past few days, Lucius had come to a new conclusion. It wasn’t so much that Larissa was relying on Haskell’s power, but that Haskell was using Larissa to humiliate him. His true opponent was, and always had been, Haskell.
Benedict had finally managed to connect with the Lincoln family through this film, seeing it as his chance to climb higher. He was determined to make it a success.
“Mr. Lincoln, you have my word,” he vowed. “Even if Gustave dares to take on ‘Heaven’s Will‘, I am confident I can defeat him.”
Lucius slowly rubbed the signet ring on his thumb. “Since you’ve both given me your assurances, I will trust you for now,” he said softly. “But if you fail, don’t blame me for closing the door on your ambitions.”
“Yes, Mr. Lincoln.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Damon asked, “Mr. Lincoln, when do you plan to hold the wedding with Livia?”
Until that day came, he couldn’t shake the fear that his connection to the powerful Lincoln family was still tenuous.
“When Gale Entertainment has completely crushed Starlight Media,” Lucius replied lightly.
“Excellent.” The promise invigorated Damon. “Larissa thinks she can save Starlight Media with a single show. How naive! Before that show even airs, I will work with other entertainment companies to cut off all of Starlight’s resources. By the time the “Mystique Blossom” gala come around next year, Starlight Media will be bankrupt!”
Lucius looked at Damon’s ambitious, aging face and sneered inwardly. The old fool was so desperate. Lucius was certain that if he offered to support Damon’s illegitimate son, the old man would even agree to let him turn his own daughter, Livia, into a plaything for his powerful associates.
With Livia’s beauty, she would be a popular and valuable asset, helping him further expand the Lincoln family’s business empire.
It was her own fault. Instead of trying to please him, she had chosen to betray him by collaborating with Larissa.
What a fool!

As for Larissa… well, Haskell seemed quite fond of her, didn’t he? When the time came, he would send him a collection of exclusive videos of Larissa, so he could watch how other men enjoyed his beloved fiancée.
In the CEO’s office at Palmer Group.
Crispin placed a file on the desk and pushed it forward.
“Mr. Palmer, this is the information and photos we’ve found on individuals who could potentially be the young master, Draven Palmer.”
Haskell had instructed Crispin to investigate the matter of his younger brother with the utmost secrecy. If Lucius or anyone else in the Palmer family found out, his brother, if he was still alive, would be in grave danger.
Haskell picked up the file and began to leaf through the documents. He didn’t look up until he heard Larissa’s voice.
“What are you looking at?” she asked, setting down her medical kit.
Haskell wheeled his chair over to her. “Crispin found some information on men who might be my brother.”
Larissa paused as she was untying her lunch bag. “How will you confirm it? Are you going to run DNA tests on all of them?”
