Vivica jumped at her daughter’s outburst.

Realizing she had lost her composure, Honora took a deep breath and softened her tone. “Doctor, you can see what this poison has done to my face. It’s completely swollen.”
“Doctor, money is not an issue,” Vivica added quickly. “If the hospital’s blood bank is low, we’ll find a way to get more.”
The doctor’s expression was grave. “We can perform the transfusion, but I must warn you, there are risks involved. And even with the procedure, there’s no guarantee your face will improve.”
The news that even a full transfusion might not work sent Honora spiraling into despair. She couldn’t live like this, trapped behind this hideous face. She would rather die. But before she died, she would
take Larissa down with her.
Inside Leopold’s hospital room.
When Vivica and Honora entered, their faces grim, Finley asked with concern, “What’s wrong?”
Vivica sighed and relayed the doctor’s words.
Finley’s expression grew heavy. “Honora, tomorrow you’re coming with me to Regal City’s main auction house. A renowned poison expert will be there. Perhaps she can cure the toxins in your system.”
Hope flickered in Honora’s dead eyes. “Really?”
Finley nodded. “Yes. According to Mr. Lawson from the auction house, this expert can cure any poison.”
“Okay,” Honora said, grabbing his arm excitedly. “I’ll go with you tomorrow.”
Looking at his sister’s swollen, disfigured face, Finley quickly averted his gaze. It was too hard to look at. He hoped the poison expert could help her. He knew she couldn’t bear to live like this–and frankly, as her brother, he couldn’t bear to see her this way either.
On the hospital bed, Leopold, though unable to move, was fully conscious. He had heard about what happened to Honora at the engagement party and silently thought, “She deserves it. A woman as cruel and deceitful as her deserves to be ugly for the rest of her life.”
His anger was followed by a surge of pride and joy. His real sister, Larissa, was as brilliant as ever. She hadn’t fallen for Honora’s schemes and had even managed to turn the tables on her so
spectacularly.
It was poetic justice!
“That Larissa is a heartless viper!” Vivica seethed, her body trembling with rage. “Honora was practically dying from the poison, and she just stood there and did nothing!”
Tears streamed down Honora’s face. “Larissa is an expert at controlling those venomous creatures, isn’t she? I don’t think me getting bitten by that scorpion was an accident. I think she did it on

purpose. She wants me dead”
Leopold scoffed internally. “If Larissa did do it on purpose, then she did a fantastic job!”
“It’s possible… No, not possible. She definitely did it!” Vivica’s fury intensified. “No wonder she wouldn’t help you! She wanted you to die! I have never met such a wicked person!”
The more she thought about it, the more enraged she became. “And the worst part is, Kiernan actually announced that Finley can no longer inherit the Judson family business. I think he’s finally lost his mind!”
Suddenly, a new thought struck her. “Larissa is so manipulative… Do you think Kiernan is under her control? Maybe she put a hex on him!”
