The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 282

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 282

“You worthless piece of trash! You nearly got me killed! Is your pathetic life even enough to pay for that?” the man roared.

“If your brother Haskell hadn’t been protecting you, do you think a loser like you could have ever returned to the Palmer family as a pampered young master living in the lap of luxury?”

“A nobody like you, daring to usurp Haskell!”

The man punctuated each curse with a kick to Draven’s head. All Draven could do was curl into a ball, shielding his head as the blows rained down.

Thatch glanced at Zoltan, who showed no intention of intervening. Thatch knew better than to plead for his son; it would only drag him down as well.

Seeing this, the other six poisoned guests felt their own anger surge.

“Zoltan, let’s be clear,” one of them said. “We will have our revenge on Draven for this. As long as we don’t kill him, we can do what we want, right?”

“Yes, as long as he lives,” Zoltan confirmed, his tone calm as he addressed the furious guests. “The Palmer family will provide compensation until you are all fully satisfied.”

“Good. With your word, we’ll be taking this waste of space with us tonight to deal with him privately,” the man declared.

“As you wish,” Zoltan replied without hesitation.

Haskell then turned to his father, a look of mock confusion on his face. “Dad, Draven is your son. Are you just going to stand by and watch him be humiliated like this?”

“If I had known he would do something like this to his own brother, I would have been the first one to punish him!” Thatch snarled. He then strode forward and kicked Draven, who had just managed to struggle to his feet, sending him crashing back to the floor.

Draven lay on the ground, staring at his father in disbelief, but he understood the silent command in his eyes.

As long as his dad’s safe, he still had a chance. He couldn’t drag his dad down with him. The guests turned to Larissa, their expressions full of respect and gratitude. “Mr. Palmer, Ms. Judson, after what’s happened, we can’t possibly stay for the rest of your engagement party. Ms. Judson, we owe you our lives. If it weren’t for you, we would have all died here tonight!”

Larissa smiled graciously. “Although the poison has been neutralized, your bodies have been weakened and will need time to recover. I will prepare some restorative remedies for each of you, which will be delivered along with the compensation Zoltan is providing.”

“Thank you, Ms. Judson,” the seven guests said in unison.

They then turned to the Judson family, their voices filled with genuine admiration. “Kiernan, your granddaughter’s medical skills are truly extraordinary. The Judson family has welcomed back a remarkable talent!”

Kiernan, who had been terrified about Finley’s involvement, now felt a surge of pride at the praise for his granddaughter. “Yes,” he said, his emotions a mix of joy and sorrow. “Larissa has been full of surprises since she returned.”

The guests shot scornful looks at Paxton’s family.

“It’s a shame Paxton was too blind to see it. If she were my daughter, I’d put her on a pedestal

“Not only did they disown her, but that son of theirs, Finley, conspired with Draven to harm his own

sister.”

“Hah, people that shortsighted and heartless will get what’s coming to them. It’s too late for regrets

now.”

Listening to the open criticism, the color drained from Paxton and Vivica’s faces.

The lead guest then turned his sharp gaze on them. “Finley was an accomplice in this. Paxton, Vivica, what are you going to do about it?”
