The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 265

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 265

Chapter 265

The declaration shattered the atmosphere, and every guest in the hall turned to see the man who had just entered.

Torrin, dressed in an exquisite white suit and holding a large bouquet of red roses, strode confidently into the room under the gaze of hundreds.

Larissa took the microphone from Haskell, her expression impassive. “Torrin Dillon, get out. Since when do I need your approval to get engaged?”

Torrin looked at her with soulful eyes, his voice ringing with conviction. “I won’t leave unless you call off this engagement with Haskell right now!”

A murmur rippled through the guests.

“Isn’t that Torrin Dillon? The son the Dillon family just found recently?”

“Yes, it is. What’s going on?”

“It looks like the Dillon heir and the Judson heiress have some history.”

“You don’t think they’re still seeing each other, do you? If so, Mr. Palmer is in for a world of

embarrassment.”

Torrin raised his voice, addressing Haskell directly. “Haskell, you’re a cripple! You can’t walk, and you can’t have children! Marrying Larissa would be ruining her life! If you have any dignity as a man, you’ll do the right thing and let her go. Let her find true happiness. I am the one who can give her that happiness!”

With each impassioned word, Torrin marched closer to the stage.

The guests‘ whispers grew louder.

“Is it true Haskell can’t have children?”

“I don’t know, but rumors like that don’t usually come from nowhere.”

“If that’s the case, his chances of becoming the Palmer heir are even slimmer. There’s no way Zoltan would let a sterile grandson take over.”

Haskell’s eyes flickered to Draven, who was emerging from backstage, but his expression remained perfectly calm.

Back at the Judson family table, Sapphira was furious at Torrin’s stunt. “Who invited that Dillon boy?”

Neville’s gaze was dark. “It obviously wasn’t Larissa or Haskell. Someone let him in deliberately to ruin this party.”

“The nerve!” Sapphira seethed.

Chapter 265

Finley and Honora exchanged a knowing, triumphant glance. This had to be Draven’s doing. And, they suspected, it was only the appetizer. The main course was yet to come.

Vivica was practically ready to applaud. She shot a smug look at the stony–faced Sapphira and Neville.

“See, Neville, Sapphira? Didn’t I tell you? It looks like your daughter’s engagement party isn’t going so smoothly after all. Her ex–boyfriend just crashed the party. It was one thing to cause a scene at the Judson estate, but now she’s embarrassing herself in front of the Palmers.” Already on edge, Sapphira’s anger boiled over at Vivica’s taunt. “Watch your mouth, Vivica,” she retorted sharply. “You never learn when to shut up, do you? Are you determined to ruin yourself completely before you finally stop?”

“How dare you, Sapphira-”

Neville immediately stepped in to defend his wife. “Vivica, was it not humiliating enough for you when your husband, Paxton, made a fool of himself in front of Zendar? Are you trying to embarrass him even more tonight?”

Paxton’s face darkened visibly. He glared at his sister, Josette, his eyes filled with resentment.

If he hadn’t believed Josette’s nonsense, he never would have approached Zendar with such confidence, only to be publicly rebuffed.

Josette watched Neville defend Sapphira, a bitter feeling stirring within her. She had always looked down on her older brother, seeing him as a lost cause. He was the eldest son of a prominent family but had no ambition beyond his own small world. His wife was barren, yet he refused to divorce her, preventing the Judson family from continuing its lineage.
