The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 131

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 131

“And make sure Kitty doesn’t have any dirt on you,” Finley added sharply. “Money is no object. Pay her whatever she wants to take the fall, but your name cannot be tied to this. You’ve just started to make it big; your reputation is everything.”

Leopold’s jaw tightened. “I know.”

After hanging up, he immediately opened Twitter. Even though his brother had paid to have much of it scrubbed, some posts remained, though their traction was low.

[Is Leopold an idiot? Instead of making it up to his REAL sister, he plots against her with his adopted sister to ruin her own welcome party?]

[IKR! You’d have to be brain–dead to pull a stunt like that!]

[He’d frame his own sister. Can’t believe people actually stan a celebrity with such a rotten character. His fans must be trash too!]

[He’s got a decent face, but his music is mediocre at best. Some influencers are better singers!]

[AGREED! His fans call him the most talented young artist of his generation? LMAO! He’s nothing compared to the legends from twenty years ago. The nerve to even compare himself to them is disgusting.]

[Did you guys see his sister’s piano performance? It was insane! Heard it was improvised. That’s real talent, way more than so–called ‘genius‘ Leopold.]

Leopold’s face grew darker with every comment he read.

Honora leaned over. “What is it, Leopold?”

He put his phone away, his expression grim. “The story about me and Kitty tampering with Larissa’s dress got leaked online.”

“Oh no,” Honora said, feigning concern. “Is it bad? Will it affect your career? You’ve only just become

famous.”

“It’s fine,” he said, shaking his head. “I’ll handle it.” His eyes glinted with malice. “This has Larissa’s fingerprints all over it. Does she really think paying for a few online posts can ruin my reputation? She has no idea how popular I am. It’ll take more than this to bring me down. How naive. I’ll show her that no matter what she tries, it will be useless.”

He couldn’t believe that just last night, he had actually felt a flicker of admiration for Larissa, a brief hope that they could be brother and sister. After this morning, and now this, his disgust for her had returned, stronger than ever.

“She thinks she can leak my secrets? I can do the same to her. I have plenty of money. Digging up dirt from her past will be easy.”

“But Leopold, are you sure it was Larissa?” Honora asked, feigning hesitation. “There were so many guests there last night.”

Leopold wasn’t listening. He was convinced. “Who else would want to destroy my career? None of the

guests would risk making an enemy of the Judson family over something so pointless. Do they want to get on my bad side? On the family’s bad side?”

Honora pretended to think for a moment before conceding. “…I suppose you’re right.”

“If she wants a war, then she better be prepared to have her reputation utterly destroyed,” Leopold snarled, his knuckles white as he gripped his phone.

A flicker of triumph crossed Honora’s face. In truth, she had also paid trolls to fan the flames of Leopold’s scandal, amplifying the backlash. Her goal was to make the situation explode, driving an irreparable wedge between him and Larissa.

So what if Larissa had outshone her at the reception? She had now alienated the entire Paxton branch of the family. Her days as a Judson were numbered.

She had a bit of talent, sure, but where did Larissa get the confidence to think she could take down them all by herself?
