Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 28 Summary
Leopold is determined to protect Honora from Larissa by turning the entire family, especially their grandfather, against her. He believes this is the only way to stop Larissa from causing harm. Honora senses his resolve and feels a quiet satisfaction, knowing she won’t have to take action herself as Larissa and Leopold are now enemies.
After settling into the estate, Larissa is taken on an enthusiastic shopping spree by Sapphira, who encourages her to buy whatever she likes without restraint. Sapphira’s excitement is infectious, and although Larissa notices her mother’s eagerness to buy a mountain of clothes, she allows it, touched by her happiness. This moment marks a turning point for Larissa, as she feels a new sense of belonging and family.
Back at the villa, the butler Jett hands Sapphira official documents confirming Larissa’s transfer into their household, making their family bond official. Sapphira’s tears of joy and Neville’s reassurance about the upcoming welcome party fill Larissa with hope and a cautious optimism about her place in this new family.
However, Larissa is aware that Honora, who suggested the party, has ulterior motives and will likely try to humiliate her publicly. Determined not to be overshadowed, Larissa plans to shine at the event and turn Honora’s schemes against her. Just as she prepares for the challenge ahead, a sharp voice interrupts, accusing Larissa of being ungrateful and violent toward her own brother, signaling more conflict to come.
Leopold’s brow furrowed in determination. “Honora, I’ve figured it out. The only way to stop her from hurting you is to make sure everyone in this family despises her! Especially Grandpa! That’s the only way to neutralize her.”
“Leopold…” Honora began, as if to protest.
“Don’t try to change my mind. I’ve made my decision!” Leopold’s eyes burned with resolve. “She brought this on herself the moment she decided she couldn’t coexist with you!”
A flicker of triumph shone in Honora’s eyes.
Perfect. She wouldn’t even have to lift a finger. Larissa and Leopold were now sworn enemies.
After familiarizing herself with the estate, Larissa returned to the villa, and Sapphira immediately whisked her away for a shopping spree.
At the high–end mall, Sapphira told her repeatedly, “Larissa, buy whatever you like. Don’t hold back.”
Though it was supposed to be Larissa’s choice, Sapphira was far more enthusiastic, piling clothes into their arms until they formed a small mountain.
“Mom, you’re picking out way too much,” Larissa pointed out.
“It’s fine,” Sapphira said, clearly in her element. “If we don’t have time to try everything on, we’ll just buy it all and take it home.”
Larissa finally understood. Sapphira was playing a real–life dress–up game. But seeing her so happy, she couldn’t bring herself to spoil the fun and let her mother buy everything she wanted.
In the early evening, they returned from their shopping trip.
Jett, the butler, was waiting for them in the living room. He returned Larissa’s old ID and handed a new document to Sapphira.
“Master Kiernan has officially transferred Miss Larissa’s records to your household.”
“Really? Let me see!” Sapphira, still glowing from her shopping high, eagerly took the document and flipped it open. When she saw Larissa’s information added to the family registry, her joy was boundless.
“Larissa, now we’re truly a family,” she said, her eyes shining with unshed tears.
Seeing Sapphira’s unadulterated happiness, Larissa felt a stir in her heart.
“Yeah,” she murmured.
Family. The word had always been a luxury, something unattainable. Now, it was right here.
Neville put his arm around Sapphira’s shoulders.
“Larissa,” he said gently, “your welcome party is set for this Saturday at seven. I’ve already had the invitations designed, and they’ll be sent out to all the prominent families tomorrow. There will be a lot

of high–profile guests, but don’t be nervous. Your mother can teach you the basic etiquette. Just treat it like a normal family dinner. No matter what happens, your mother and I have your back.”
Larissa nodded. “Okay.”
“Do you have any ideas for your evening gown?” Sapphira asked. “Any particular style you like?”
Honora was the one who had suggested the party, and Larissa knew it wasn’t out of the goodness of her heart. She would undoubtedly try to outshine Larissa and orchestrate her public humiliation. The gowns that night would be a battleground. Honora was probably already plotting something.
Well, if it was her party, she was going to be the undeniable star of the show. Honora’s little schemes were about to blow up in her face.
“For the gown, Mom, just order the absolute best one you can find.”
“You got it.”
Suddenly, a shrill woman’s voice pierced the air from the doorway.
“Larissa, you ungrateful wretch! Your father and I brought you home, and not only do you refuse to acknowledge us, but now you’re physically attacking your own brother!”
