Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 15

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 15 Summary

Larissa and her new family arrive at the east villa, where Sapphira eagerly shows her the room prepared just for her. Larissa is touched by the gesture, realizing she is truly welcomed as a daughter. However, when she sees the room, she is surprised by its extravagant, overwhelmingly pink princess style, which contrasts sharply with her usual taste. Despite her reservations, she accepts the room, appreciating her mother’s enthusiasm and generosity.

Sapphira insists Larissa should not settle for just one room and offers her the entire third floor, even suggesting different themed rooms to suit her preferences. Larissa is tempted by the idea, especially since it would give her beloved pets plenty of space. She happily agrees to take the whole floor, and Sapphira expresses her joy at their new family life together, promising them a shared future.

After settling in and releasing her pets, Larissa arranges her cherished belongings, feeling a mix of comfort and novelty in her new surroundings. Her peaceful moment is interrupted by a message from her ex-boyfriend, Torrin Dillon, who flaunts his luxurious new mansion and tries to lure her back. Larissa is caught between the past and her new life, but the villa, despite its pinkness, feels more like home than anything she has known in a long time.

Chapter 15

As they pulled up to the east villa, Sapphira’s eyes sparkled with joy. Without hesitation, she grasped Larissa’s hand warmly. “Larissa, come with me! I want to show you your room,” she said, her voice bubbling with excitement.

Larissa blinked in surprise. “My room? Is it ready already?” she asked, a hint of disbelief in her tone.

Neville gave a gentle smile, his gaze soft and filled with tenderness as he looked at his wife. “Your mother has always dreamed of having a daughter. So, we’ve kept a room prepared just for you all along.”

A small smile tugged at Larissa’s lips. The thought that she was truly a precious gift to her new mother made her heart swell with warmth. Somehow, this felt like a perfect match, a new beginning wrapped in hope.

“Alright, Mom,” Larissa said cheerfully, her spirits lifting. “Let’s go see it.”

Sapphira led her up to the third floor and unlocked the door to the central room. Larissa stepped inside and instantly froze. The space was decorated in an extravagant princess style—a vivid, overwhelming sea of pink hues that seemed to shout youthful fantasy.

This was so far from her usual taste.

Clearing her throat awkwardly, Larissa glanced around and said, “Mom, don’t you think this is… maybe a little too pink? I’m not sure it really suits someone my age.”

Sapphira’s eyes lit up with enthusiasm. “Of course it does! You’re twenty now—the prime of your life! Pink is bursting with energy and youth!” She caught herself, then added gently, “But if you don’t like it, we can redo everything tomorrow. We’ll decorate it exactly how you want.”

Larissa paused, considering the offer. “No, it’s okay. This will do,” she decided. After all, it was just a place to sleep.

“Nonsense!” Sapphira insisted, her voice brimming with pride. “You’re my daughter now, the heiress of the Judson family. You shouldn’t have to settle for ‘just okay.’ We have plenty of rooms here. Why don’t you take the entire third floor? We can make one room minimalist luxury, another Mediterranean style! And if you miss your old cottage, we can even create a rustic-themed room for you!”

It was almost overwhelming. Her beautiful new mother was spoiling her beyond what Larissa had expected.

Yet, deep down, Larissa found herself tempted by the idea of having the whole floor. It would give Shadow, Snowy, and Sage plenty of space to roam freely.

“Well then,” Larissa said, not holding back her excitement, “I’ll take the whole floor.”

“Absolutely!” Sapphira replied eagerly. “If you want, we could even build you a brand-new villa!”

Larissa waved her hand dismissively. “That won’t be necessary. I’d rather live here with you and Dad.”

Sapphira’s eyes brightened even more. “Good. We’ll all live together.” Her smile was radiant with happiness. “Dinner will be ready in a while. You should get some rest. I’ll have your luggage brought up.”

“Okay,” Larissa said softly.

Once Sapphira left, someone arrived carrying the burlap sack from Spire Village. Larissa closed the door behind her, releasing Shadow, Snowy, and Sage into their new surroundings. She carefully arranged her jars filled with powders, each one a small treasure from her past. At last, she sank onto the very pink, very plush bed, feeling the softness envelop her.

Her phone buzzed suddenly.

She turned over and reached for it. A message from her ex-boyfriend, Torrin Dillon, appeared, accompanied by a photo of a grand, opulent mansion.

The text read:

[Larissa, see this? This is my mansion now. Jealous? If you regret your decision, maybe I’ll be generous enough to take you back.]

Larissa stared at the screen, her mind swirling with conflicting emotions. Torrin was flaunting his new life as a young master of the Dillon family, trying to tempt her back. But here she was, in a place that, despite its overwhelming pinkness, felt more like home than anything else she’d known in a long time.
