Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash ` 210
Chapter 210
Madeleine’s heart warmed. It was so nice. Everyone around her
was so good to her, so forgiving.
“How did she end up with Fiona? I remember Fiona’s taste not
being this bad.”
Madeleine, who had just been smiling, turned with a pained
expression.
“Rebecca, if you want to say my taste is bad, you can just say
it.”
“A coincidence, just a coincidence. I didn’t mean to mock you.
Let’s go.”
“Wait a second.”
Madeleine took another look at the two over there.
They came out of the jewelry store and went into the luxury
clothing boutique next door.
Madeleine couldn’t see if Fiona was happy, but that Mary certainly looked pleased.
Chapter 210
She narrowed her eyes, recalling Mary’s role in the narrative
control in the past.
She had remembered a lot of things these past few days,
mostly fragmented pieces, and some were about this woman.
Mary, by her side, had provided her with many opportunities to
meet Edward.
Most importantly, every time she appeared, it was as if she
could brainwash her, making her firmly believe that the one she
liked was Edward.
At first, Madeleine was trapped deep in the narrative control
and didn’t feel anything was wrong.
Later, as she slowly began to awaken, she felt pain and wanted
to struggle, but it was Mary who dragged her back into the
abyss time and time again.
She might not have been a very prominent character.
But just as Zoe could build a ‘good guy‘ Persona for Edward, her
role was not to be underestimated.
“Rebecca, let’s go over there too.”
Chapter 210
“Go to that store?!”
Rebecca gave Madeleine a look that said ‘have you lost your
mind, scanning her up and down.
“What for? To see how your former love rival is doing now?
Or to see if that leech is happy with the life she’s living off your
blood?”
Madeleine looked helpless.
Sometimes she really suspected that Rebecca could poison
herself just by licking her lips.
“Mary is not a good person. I’m worried Fiona will be deceived.”
“Why are you helping Fiona for no reason?”
Madeleine was at a loss for words.
Although she had told Fiona she wouldn’t meddle in her affairs
anymore, she had given her a hint, and Fiona had gone to see
Zoe. Whether she could awaken and break free from the
narrative control was up to her.
But when she caught a glimpse of Fiona’s profile just now,
Madeleine’s heart softened a little.
Chapter 210
Fiona didn’t look happy, and her eyes seemed a bit empty.
If it weren’t for having to be Edward’s “accessory,” she would
probably have her own, more vibrant and splendid life.
As fellow sufferers, she still wanted to lend a hand when she
could.
“Never mind, never mind.”
Rebecca saw the conflicted look on Madeleine’s face, couldn’t
figure out what she was thinking, and just waved her hand
helplessly.
“If you want to go, then go. I’m not stopping you. Besides, this
brand has some decent clothes. I’ll check them out while I’m
there.”
Madeleine pursed her lips into a smile.
That was so Rebecca. She obviously wanted to come with me
but had to make up an excuse.
She linked her arm through Rebecca’s and started walking,
murmuring, “We should sign a Best Friend Pact when we get
back.”
Chapter 210
“A Best Friend Pact?
You’re so childish.”
“Oh, is it childish?
I’ve seen other best friends do it. If you won’t do it with me, well,
I’ll just find someone else.”
“Fine, fine, fine!
You’re impossible.”.
Inside the clothing store, Fiona didn’t notice anyone watching
from outside. Her thoughts were all jumbled by Mary’s constant
nagging.
“Fiona, what color do you think looks good on me?”
“I think these new arrivals all look great on me. What should I
do? I like all of them.”
“And that one over there, I heard it’s a limited edition!”
Fiona found it annoying and gave a slight nod.
“Why don’t you go try them all on? I’m a little tired, I’m going to
go rest for a while.”
Chapter 210
“Great!”
Mary’s eyes lit up, but then she remembered something and
grabbed Fiona’s hand.
“Fiona, you’re a VIP at this store, right? Can I use your VIP fitting
room and lounge?”
Luxury brands have their own service standards for top clients. Forget regular people; you can’t enjoy this kind of treatment
without reaching a certain spending level.
Fiona was reluctant, but she couldn’t bring herself to say no.
Besides, she really just wanted to be alone for a while and rest,
so she had no choice but to nod.
“That’s great! Fiona, you’re the best. You’re my best friend!”
After saying that, Mary turned around and started bossily telling
the staff to get the clothes ready for her to try on.
