Night Carved Paths Into Silence by Zyrel Ash 100
After saying that, she walked quickly towards the Spicy
Numbing Hot Pot restaurant.
Afraid that if she was a step too late, Roderick would see her
blushing cheeks.
Ugh, she wasn’t stupid. How could she not see that Roderick
cared about her, and that’s why he kept everything?
The small Spicy Numbing Hot Pot place from back then had
now become a chain. The restaurant was bright and clean, and
aside from a few old photos from that time on the wall, there
was no trace of what it used to be.
“It’s completely different, huh? The taste hasn’t changed, has
it?”
“It hasn’t. You can try it in a bit.”
As Roderick was speaking, his phone rang. After seeing who
was calling, he hung up without a second thought.
But the phone seemed to be stuck on him, ringing again and
again.
Chapter 100
“What’s wrong? Is it work?”
“No, it’s Bradley.”
“Then you should answer it.”
Roderick stared at his phone for a moment. Based on past
experience, this meant he was in a bad mood and looking for
him to vent.
He answered with a blank expression, said a few words, and
unhappily told him he was at the Spicy Numbing Hot Pot
restaurant.
“Bradley said he’s coming over. If you don’t want him to, I can
tell him to go back?”
“It’s fine, let him come.”
As it happened, she was also quite interested in what Bradley
had been up to these past few years.
Not long after, Bradley arrived, carrying a large case of alcohol.
When he saw Madeleine, he glared at Roderick, annoyed. “Why
didn’t you tell me she was here too!
?”
Chapter 100
Roderick gave a half–smile.
“What’s wrong? Afraid my wife will find out about your little
mess and laugh at you?”
Instantly, Madeleine’s ears perked up, her face showing she
was ready to watch the drama unfold.
Bradley put down his beer and shot a warning look at Roderick.
“If you still consider me a friend, then cut it out. It took so much
for her to finally forget.”
For the past few days, Bradley had been asking about
Madeleine from time to time. At first, he was convinced she
was faking it and planned to help Roderick expose her.
Who would’ve thought that after all this time, he’d actually
confirmed that Madeleine had lost her memory.
Madeleine looked over with a smile.
“You don’t dare let me know?
It’s not something shady, is it?”
“It’s nothing.”
Chapter 100
After speaking, he pulled out two bottles of beer and placed
them in front of them. “Can you drink or not? Say something.”
Roderick reached out and moved the bottle in front of
Madeleine to his own side.
Bradley scoffed but didn’t say anything else. After all, Roderick
was protective of Madeleine and definitely wouldn’t let her
drink.
While Bradley turned to order food, Madeleine asked curiously,
“What’s his deal? Can’t you tell me?”
Roderick gave a half–smile, his long fingers tapping on the
table.
“I don’t need to tell you. You’ll find out in a bit.”
Madeleine’s curiosity was thoroughly piqued. She rubbed her
hands together, her face full of anticipation.
Soon, the Spicy Numbing Hot Pot was brought out.
The owners were still the same kind couple, looking much older
than Madeleine remembered, but their smiles were the same.
Just now, they were busy in the back kitchen and didn’t know it

was them. Now, bringing the food out themselves, they looked
at Madeleine in surprise.
“Oh my, is that Boss Madeleine?
It’s been a long time since you’ve come.”
Madeleine looked around, then pointed to herself.
“Me?”
When did she become Boss Madeleine?
The couple both beamed.
“Yes, it’s been such a long time. Boss Madeleine is getting more
and more beautiful.”
“Alright, alright, old man. Let’s not keep them from their meal.”
“I’m just happy, that’s all. Come on, let’s go make some more Bar Snacks for our young bosses.”
The couple nodded at them, chuckled, and went back into the
kitchen.
Madeleine turned her head, waiting for Roderick to explain.
Chapter 100
He took out the sanitized utensils he had prepared for
Madeleine and sanitized them carefully one more time.
“The year we first got married, you said you were craving this
Spicy Numbing Hot Pot. When we came back, we found out
they were struggling with the business, so you were the one
who invested money in it.”
Roderick’s lips curved. “Now you even get dividends every year.”
“For real?!”
“All you see is money now.”
Roderick sighed.
It seemed he would have to work even harder.
Roderick was right. The taste of the Spicy Numbing Hot Pot
hadn’t changed much, and Madeleine was too busy eating to
even talk.
Bradley, on the other hand, was chattering away nonstop.
