When Love is Gone Novel Chapter 610

When The Ocean Learned My Name and Whispered It Back to You by Aurelia Novel 610

Chapter 610

Sydney froze.

Twenty years ago, Julian had been barely ten years old. He had no power and no influence. There was no way he could have owed

two lives.

“There has to be some misunderstanding. Back then, Jullan was Jut a ten-year-old…”

“Did I say he did it?” Tristan cut in.

He added casually, “Sins of the father, paid by the son. Sounds fair o me.”

Only then did Sydney truly understand. This had nothing to do with Julian himself. Whatever the older generation had done, and whether a mistake had occurred back then, she had no way of knowing,

Before she could speak again, the bespectacled man hurried in and bent at the waist. “Mr. Sinclair, they’ve found us.”

Sydney knew who “they” were.

“So fast?” Tristan glanced at her with a cool smile, as if unsurprised. “Looks like you matter a lot to Julian. Seems I played the right card.”

He showed no panic. Excitement flickered in his eyes, the thrill of revenge finally within reach.

At that moment, Sydney felt no relief that Julian was nearby. Her heart rose into her throat. Her voice trembled despite her effort to steady it. “What… What are you going to do to him?”

“Relax. As long as you cooperate, I have no interest in hurting a woman about to become a mother.”

Tristan checked the time on the phone resting on the coffee table. He lifted his left hand slightly.

The bespectacled man stepped forward. He looked ready to use forme again, but after a warning glance from Tristan, he only gestured toward the staircase. “Ms. Wilson, please cooperate.”

Sydney clenched her hands. She wanted to resist, but Tristan’s cold stare held her in place. She swallowed her protest and followed the man toward the stairs.

Outnumbered, she would gain nothing by fighting.

As they reached the stairs, Tristan spoke coldly. “Watch her closely If anything goes wrong, I’ll use you to block Julian’s bullets.

He was not speaking to Sydney.

The bespectacled man would never treat a pregnant woman lightly but he still answered with confidence, “Don’t worry. I won’t take my eyes off her.”

He turned and led Sydney upstairs, not toward the basement.

She paused and glanced upward. “We’re going upstairs?”

“Move when you’re told and stop asking questions.” Irritation edged into his voice as he raised a hand to shove her.

Tristan frowned. “She’s pregnant. Stop manhandling her.”

Sydney could tell he was not entirely heartless. At least toward a pregnant woman, he showed a trace of restraint.

The bespectacled man pulled his hand back at once, and something clicked for her.

She cooperated and went upstairs, careful with each step as a dull ache tugged at her abdomen.

On the third floor, he did not lock her inside a room. He led her on an open terrace. He toyed with a short baton and tipped his chin toward a chair placed there. “Sit.”

The chair stood at the very edge. Anyone afraid of heights would have felt their legs weaken.

Sydney was not afraid of heights. Growing up, she had feared only loise.

She sat and glanced over the edge, estimating the drop. From thatngle, she could see the courtyard and the hall below with

almost no obstruction.

She thought she understood Tristan’s plan.

The terrace was bare. There was not even a railing. Once Julian found this place and stepped through the carved iron gate outside, only one of them would walk away.

‘Julian…’ He would choose to save her, no matter the cost.
